We have an important announcement to make today.
We've always wanted to make AMVs and we've always enjoyed making them, honing our editing skills, looking to offer deeper, more polished AMVs than what already exists on YouTube.
Those who have been following us since the Blackbeard AMV must have clearly seen our progress in editing, CC, scene selection...
But our motivation has been decreasing for some time.
Since our video on ASL, our channel is in free fall. We have less and less views/feedbacks, less YouTube recommendations, less comments, and our videos don't seem to find their audience.
What's most frustrating is that the last 3 videos are also the ones that took the most dedication and work. It feels like the more effort and time we put in and the more we try to make a quality video, the less we get rewarded.
Creating these videos takes us a lot of time and doesn't make us any money, the only motivation we have is to see our videos find an audience and receive feedback, which happens less and less.
Little by little, this has affected our motivation and the failure of our last video doesn't make us want to create a new one. To be completely transparent, we even lost subscribers on our last AMV.
Of course we keep in mind all the great moments of our channel on YouTube. Our AMV Zoro, which reached 4 million views recently, while we had only 30 subscribers when we released it. That's just amazing for us.
And of course all the comments that we received, that support us, and all the people that enjoyed our videos, followed our channel. Thank you for the strength that you gave us.
We're not sure what's going to happen in the future. We'll probably try to do some short edits when we have time but we clearly don't feel like doing another big project.
I hope you'll understand our situation, which unfortunately you, who follow us, can't do anything about. To tell the truth, there's not really anyone to blame. Our videos just didn't fit in with the AMV watching community.
