The stats of these 4 videos find a different way to surprise me EVERY YEAR. So I gotta ask...

If you would like to learn or improve your audio mixing of multilanguage videos...
Old but precious video by ‪@MirkaKaroliina‬ which was crucial for me to take my multilanguages to the next level

https://youtu.be/W2aGG4rZ54k?si=whwyu...

Here are a few additional tricks I've picked up over the years:
- The shorter the transition, the better
Blending audios with a 4-5 seconds overlap is tempting. But the best transitions are often short ones (1 second or less), usually close to (right before or after) a louder sound, which helps cover up the transition

- Synch all your tracks with the track of the video you're gonna use (and then don't move them)
Synching your audios with the video you're gonna use from the start helps you keep audio and video coordinated. Mismatches between audio and video were one of my plagues, before I started doing this

- Use the same source for audios whenever possible
Taking your audios from a same source (e.g. soundtracks) or source-type (e.g. Blu-ray discs) will make your life SO much easier. Also, first-hand audios will generally be preferable to whatever re-uploads you'll find around

- Volume needs context
You will only notice a specific track is louder or quieter than the rest when you hear it together with a much longer segment (at least 20 seconds, possibly more), not when you hear the contrast with only the preceding or following track

- Use both headphones and speakers
Headphones help you hear better details, but alternating them with listening to your mix with speakers helps you notice other details which were not as evident with your headphones on

- "Audacity" is a valid ally
If you're not familiar with this audio-editing program, go meet it now. It's not the easiest, but it's been a great helping tool over the years to fix volumes and pitch

- "Pitch" rhymes with "bi-h"
Sometimes audios will mix horribly, making an awful sound when blended. That's because they have different pitches (maybe speed too). When this happens, try and fix the pitch, so they'll stop screaming at each-other.
A common pitch change is due to PAL: Zone 2 DVDs (google it) are quicker and higher-pitched. To fix this in Audacity: Effects > Pitch and Tempo > Change Speed and Pitch > Percent Change: -4,096
If this doesn't work...then the pitch is different in some other way, and you can only fix it through trial and error. May the odds be in your favour.

Hope you'll find this little guide helpful ^^
And very special thanks to Mirka for making that video all those years ago! Was a turning point for me, really watch video on watch page

No YT, I don't care to have AI "brainstorm ideas" from random comments! I just want some intelligence in your "smart" options! Not an artificial one, a real one!

Seeing an official dubbing in a minor* language of Italy warms my heart to a point I can't describe ❤️

* "minor" = over 4M speakers, yet still not numbered among Italy's official minority languages, like many other threatened minor languages spoken in Italy

Not me screaming on the bus because ‪@Lucmar9‬ IS REPRISING HER ROLE AS ELSA IN THE DANISH MUSICAL ❄️🇩🇰

I can totally keep it cool. I'm perfectly calm.

Hey folks!

No insta preview this week, because there won't be a video this week
I decided to change the pace of video publishing from every week to every other week, so the next video will be coming next week instead

I'm not yet sure whether this change will only be temporary or not, we'll see what life dictates

Have a great day everyone!
