Behind the scenes with @GreenGirlLeahT on my sixth episode of Teaching Climate Together web series. I can’t believe we shot this back in March 2023 and it’s finally out.
As you all know, environmental education is deeply personal to me and learning about intersectional environmentalism with one of my good friends has meant so much to me.
I started this web series project almost 2 years ago and to have 6 fully produced and edited episode brings me to happiness. Nobody knows how much planning has gone to these shoots. And I can’t wait to show more.
I’d appreciate if you all can go like, comment, and share the sixth episode! It goes a long way ✨🌎

Summer 2024 Finland 🇫🇮 Reflection:
Thanks to everyone who watched my episode of my web series for Climate Anxiety with Dr. Panu Pihkala (if you haven’t watched it I’ll link below) 👇
This was the first time I ever visited Finland 🇫🇮 I was so privileged to be here. The people, food, and nature was great. I felt happy there but also a bit overwhelmed with learning that the sun doesn’t go away until like 10PM!!! 🕙
I never would have thought that this 5th episode internationally and to receive funding to do this work. As someone who continues to remain 100% independent this is not easy. I wish I knew the answers to everything when it comes to funding climate media but I’m determined to continue to creating stories and hoping to in the future to give back to future storytellers!
What other environmental words and experts would you like to see me work with for the web series 👀

One of the reasons I set out to create my own digital web series, Teaching Climate Together, was my love for connecting with new people and exploring unique landscapes.
I make sure to capture behind the scenes for each episode.
Out of all the activities during this shoot, the seed lab was my favorite. Not just because of the incredible collection but because it reminded me of my initial exposure to plant biology.
However, experiencing seed collection firsthand, understanding its purpose, and recognizing why we need to store these seeds shifted my perspective. It made me realize how hands-on learning can bridge complex topics for mainstream audiences and make them more engaging.
In my earlier years, I spent countless hours in labs as a researcher. But now, I tell stories through media, focusing on slow, meaningful projects that spark curiosity and foster connections. This journey has led to creating four live episodes, with two more lined up before I reach the halfway mark of my season.
As I plan to film the second half in 2025, I can’t wait to continue learning, meeting people, and exploring new narratives. This project has truly been a labor of love and growth, merging science, media, and storytelling in ways I never imagined.
Thanks for everyone who has watched the episode so far, you can still watch it below.

It's finally here... Tomorrow is the release of the second episode of the other web series I created, Sustainable Jobs. I would appreciate it if you could give a like, comment, and share the video with others to learn more about the company @HarvestThermal2023 and its initiatives to ensure our homes are powered sustainably.
Many of you don't know how long it takes to make these episodes. As an independent environmental media creative, I work closely with brands that align with my values and take ownership of working with companies to highlight to young people the beauty of careers that exist within sustainability. This is why I love the Sustainable Jobs web series.
Energy access is important to me because, growing up in poverty, I did not have access to an endless amount of energy due to my parents' inability to afford high electricity bills. During heat waves, we were not allowed to use the AC and relied on fans. This episode means a lot to me because it gives home owners agency to make a difference by not just living sustainably but also how they consume energy in their homes.
Please let me know what you think about the episode below!

One of my favorite parts of being an independent climate media creative is behind the scenes when shooting episodes for my web series, Teaching Climate Together. These shots encapsulate why I started my series to meet researchers like Dr. Suzanne Pierre from Critical Ecology Lab to learn more about the subjects I am limited in my work as an environmentalist. I've always wanted to do media work outside the realm of my iPhone and grew up inspired by watching various environmental TV shows on Nat Geo and Discovery Channel. One day, I envision being on TV and having my own show. I've always loved teaching people new topics and materials that they wanted to learn about and inspire generations of people of why environmental education is needed.
I am still in my early days of learning how to be a better host and understanding how to make things more interactive, moving, and flowing for the general audience, but these are the hurdles I love documenting for other creatives out there who often struggle whether or not they have the ability to create media. If you have an idea, execute it, and regardless of the quality, outcome, or who watches the video, be thankful and proud of everything you are doing. When I shot my first episode in January 2023, I didn't know if I would make more, but here we are with our third episode out in the world and plenty more were shot a few months ago!
If you haven't watched the episode on Critical Ecology, I highly recommend watching it now on my channel!
Love,
Isaias 🤓♥️

I'm excited to announce that the third episode of my web series, Teaching Climate Together with Dr. Suzanne Pierre, will be out next week! Critical Ecology Lab is an independent research lab based in Oakland, CA. Dr. Suzanne Pierre's lab focuses on relating ecological processes and the forces that have influenced them to human equality and liberation.
How do our ecological investigations intersect with social and cultural frameworks? How could invisible and unjust systems relate to environmental crises? These are the types of questions asked in the lab. In this episode, you’ll hear from the team that makes CEL’s work possible. What does this work represent for the environmental justice movement? How does CEL bring this inquiry from theory to practice? What changes does the world need but not yet have?
You don't want to miss out on the premiere of this episode, so make sure to head over to the link below and notify yourself to watch the full episode! We shot this episode back in October 2023 and it's taken time to edit, produce, and manifest this project with a labor of love. Thank you to everyone who continues to support my work as an environmentalist and creative.
Maybe one day I'll have my TV show in the future :)

I stopped getting photos of myself for a few years because I always hated how I looked in photos but I had to redevelop that relationship to honor my life as I continue to age.
Recently got some photos done on my film camera I’ve had for years now since college. I remember telling myself to document myself as I continue to age and I want to look back at myself to say I did that 😭♥️
Some YouTube exclusive previews: Episode 03 of Teaching Climate Together coming up in July 🧙♀️📕 What other episodes would you love for me to explore?
