April is neurodiversity awareness month, which is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I am AuDHD, and while normal life can be difficult to navigate sometimes, YouTube and this community provide a place for me to truly be myself. Thank you for giving me a place to connect with people who share my love for sports, and for being a supportive and open group for people with all different kinds of brains!
Hello friends--it's another short video today (about Ronald Acuña Jr.), as I was on vacation last week and have been busy with work catching up from that. That being said, I'll have a video out next weekend that I think is very fun and I am quite excited about!
I just put out the first short in a series I'm calling "one for the weekend", which will (hopefully) be released every weekend between video releases. Go check out the first one and tell me what you think!
The next video won't be ready for another couple of weeks, so to tide all of us over, we're going to have a LIVE Q&A this Friday, 3/1, at 7:30pm ET.
For those of you that live in parts of the world where that's not an accessible time to do anything, never fear! You can have your questions answered by commenting them on this post, emailing them to me at studentofthegame250@gmail.com, or by messaging me on Twitter (@will_shingleton). The whole thing will be logged and posted on this feed like a regular video, so you can watch it back whenever you like!
Looking forward to it! Be sure to get those questions in ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Hey guys--I just wanted to come on here and say publicly how sad I was to hear about Kelvin Kiptum's passing this weekend. He featured prominently in a video I made a while back, and he was an absolutely captivating athlete to research, both in his incredible speed on the course and his grace and humility in interviews. What an amazing talent to lose so early--SotG is thinking of the entire running community right now as they try and deal with this. Godspeed and enjoy the chances you get to appreciate these incredible sportspeople 🇰🇪💔
Student of the Game is officially two years old. Thank you to everyone who's been here from the beginning, the ones who have just joined recently, and the ones who will join us in the future! This community is absolutely outstanding and makes all the hours spent researching and editing totally worth it. Here's to many more years of nerding out together about sports psychology and culture 🥂🎉
New video coming at the end of this week, and let me tell ya---bringing it to life has already consumed a not-insignificant portion of my sanity 😅
It's time to dig a little deeper. Have you ever wondered why a player always does the same routine before shooting a free throw, or how fatigue impacts decision-making? Us too. Student of the Game explores the world of Sports Psychology by looking closer at the biggest sports stories of the day, and the athletes and coaches who make them happen.
