in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
I can barely believe I'm saying this, but this Tuesday was FIVE YEARS ON from the release of the first ever episode of Another Station, Another Mile. Where did all that time go?!
Thank you all so much for the support and love, especially in the last two of those five years where I know I've been very absent. I've been desperate to make a comeback for a long time, but...you know how it is. Sometimes life just gets in the way. So I won't promise a timeframe for a return, but I will promise this - you haven't seen the last of me or ASAM. At all.
Meantime, whether you've been here for five minutes or since July 2019, thank you all for sticking around. You're the best ^_^

Hello pals. I've got a very important favour to ask of you all - very rich of me given my lengthy absence, I know, but this is something I simply cannot stay quiet on.
I'm sure many of you have now heard about the plan to close up to 1,000 ticket offices around the UK. Not only will this put thousands of station staff out of a job - in a cost of living crisis, no less - but will cause serious and severe accessibility issues for passengers, as well as likely making many stations unstaffed and empty, and downright unsafe. And we're not just talking about relatively small stations here - large and busy stations like London Waterloo, Exeter St Davids, London Victoria, Birmingham New Street, London Blackfriars, Manchester Piccadilly and Clapham Junction are on the list of proposed ticket office closures. Imagine trying to navigate such massive stations like these, with loads of platforms, with next to no staff and no ticket offices, especially if the ticket machine(s) aren't working and/or you have accessibility requirements?
And at a time where train travel should rightfully be encouraged as the green option, yet is more expensive and inaccessible to passengers than ever, a move like this actively makes my blood boil. And as an autistic traveller myself, the presence of staff and human beings to interact with and help me on stations, especially when I'm overwhelmed and struggling, is invaluable. Given I not only love the railways, but rely on them almost exclusively for travel, a move like this would be pretty much the straw that breaks the camels back - I and many others would be forced off the railways for good. Which breaks my heart.
Now, I was hoping to have a full video to discuss this issue, but spoons and time has been against me lately, so this will have to do. I can't just stand by and say nothing at all. And linked below is a great video by the wonderful @JenOnTheMove - go give that a watch, pronto!
Most importantly though, a public consultation on this decision was launched, very quietly, around three weeks ago. And the deadline for responses to this consultation is tomorrow, Wednesday 26th July. Consultations are open for every train operating company involved in this - Avanti West Coast, Chiltern, C2C, EMR, Greater Anglia, Great Northern/Thameslink/Southern, GWR, LNER, Northern, SouthEastern, SWR, TPE and WMR - and via the link below you'll be able to access the specific consultations for each TOC, as well as the London TravelWatch passenger watchdog. Pick the relevant TOCs for you and that you use the most, and let them know your feelings on this!

Also, if you can, use the template provided on each consultation response page to create a personalised response. Any response is a good one of course, but lots of copy-pasted generic responses will be easier to ignore and less impactful. And in addition, there are a number of petitions doing the rounds on this one - sign and get involved wherever you can:

Thank you everyone, it means the world <3

Hello pals!
Just a heads up that I'll be making an appearance on @DovetailGamesDTG's Midweek Madness stream this evening, at either 6:30pm or 8:30pm UK time!
In amongst the understandable hype for Spirit of Steam - which I'm REALLY EXCITED FOR by the way!! - you'll also get to see @MegaSim have an explore of suburban Glasgow, and me taking a trundle through Kent and my old home turf aboard a train I'm very familiar with - the Class 465/9 EMU!
Keep an eye out tonight on @TrainSimWorld's YouTube and Twitch channels :)

Hello people of the internet!
Hope you've all been doing well lately. Just wanted to drop a little update for you, as I'm aware it'll be coming up on 2-3 weeks without any activity from me - me, being irregular with uploads? SHOCKER. But no need to panic, I've just not had the chance to get out and film any new content of late, between life stuff and busy schedules with other things.
BUT. That should be changing from this week onwards, starting with a visit to the heritage railway I've probably been most excited to visit in this series so far - the Severn Valley Railway in the West Midlands! Not only is it a railway I've been super excited to go back to, having not been there since I was a very smol human, but it'll be for a very special occasion; the Spring Diesel Bash! It's looking like an incredible event, with a packed roster of locos including Westerns, 50s, 33s, Peaks, a 69 (NICE) and hopefully a 68!! I'll also have a special guest with me for at least part of the trip, one who's been on the channel once before back in 2019...any guesses who? ^_^
And then next week I'll be busy with things closer to home, including the opening of a certain CROSS-town RAIL-way line, a LINE named after a certain Queen ELIZABETH II. Reckon it's gonna be a pretty big deal, lots of TrainTubers will be out in force to witness a historic day in British rail history - be rude of me not to get amongst it, wouldn't it? ;)
Hopefully in amongst all that, I've also got an idea on deck looking at *fictional* railway stations and networks from one of my other favourite special interests, the world of videogames! I've been sitting on it for a while, and Jago Hazzard's series documenting fictional movie stations has spurred me on to finally make it a reality! And there's a big update to come in the Small Train Chronicles, which I'll hopefully get around to updating soon - TL;DR: the small trains are now slightly less small...
And of course, there's everything going on at my AJ Omega channels, on Twitch and on TikTok - oh my!!
Regardless, it's exciting times coming up as we enter the summer months, where I'm always at my happiest mentally and most creatively inspired. And the first summer of being full-time as a content creator? I'm excited.
To everyone who has supported me thus far in whatever ways possible, from Patreon subs and Ko-fi tips to just viewing and liking and enjoying my videos? I can never, *ever* adequately put into words how much it all means to me. Thank you. And to anyone else just joining us - hop aboard, make yourselves comfortable, and enjoy the ride! ^_^
Hope you're all having a lovely week,
AJ Omega - Another Station, Another Mile. <3

NEW VIDEO ALERT
Yep, dropping this evening is a new video in the semi-regular The Little & The Lost series! Today we're paying a visit to Chessington South, which on first glance looks like a rather innocuous branch line terminus station in outer suburban Greater London. However, take a closer look, and hiding just under the surface is a fascinating story of a station and line permanently frozen in time, started but doomed to never be completed, and the strange artefacts left behind by this station doomed to forever exist in limbo - including a literal ghost platform!
Come join us this evening at 8pm UK time, for a special little adventure ^_^
