What is the network for the 99?
Our big dream is a more informed, engaged electorate, and we have short and long-term goals to get us there.
In the short term, we'll be helping our participants learn how we use technology to better communicate and make decisions. Our longer term goals are about active self-governance.
Our last national elections had one of the lowest voter turnouts in recent history. The antidote to voter apathy is truth telling that ignites interest.
Our vision is to engage people and move them from being passive consumers of information into being co-creators that actively expand their circles of influence, strengthening our grassroots movements.
We want to foster more community cohesion, eventually building more of a sense of unity among local citizens, and allowing our neighborhoods to come together with a shared sense of purpose.
The era of passive consumption of media controlled by the 1% is over.
The time has come for us to become the media.
