I just realized it’s been a long time since my last community post, so we’re going to change that!

We are now entering the season finale of Lilin! Who would have thought such a simple and spooky fun one-shot video would become such a grand project? I know I sure didn’t. I was originally going to remake that one-shot video into a contained short story, but it soon evolved into something with a life of its own.

So up next we have Lilin Season 1 finale followed by some trailers for my new shows, Last Knight and Aia the Digital Idol, and then the actual premier of Last Knight. We have a lot of cool things in store, so I hope you’ll be interested in seeing where we go from here.

Hi there! Just a quick question regarding notifications.

Are you guys receiving notifications when new uploads are live? I’ve been looking at analytics and talking to some folks and it doesn’t seem like they’re getting notified.

February 14th, 2022 - "Lilin" makes its officially debut with its premier episode.

February 14th, 2023 - Episode 11 is close to being completed.

It's crazy to believe that we've come such a long way in such a short amount of time. If you were to travel back to a year ago, even February of 2021, and told me I'd be working on something that would become so near and dear to my heart, I don't think I'd believe you.

"Lilin" has changed a lot of things for me and it's become a huge part of my creative life now. I'm grateful for this great cast and production team. Without their enthusiasm, professionalism, and friendship, this would still be a concept that would just linger in my head without ever coming to life.

Big thank you to the "Lilin" team for inspiring me and for being such a great band of brothers and sisters. And big thanks to you for watching this far. Much more to come, along with other original projects that are just over the horizon.

February 8th 2021 - Lillie's first iteration was made for a fun spooky video that was left open for a potential sequel.

February 14th 2022 - "Lilin" releases its first episode.

It's crazy to see how much Lillie and the whole scope of the project has changed in just a year. Absolutely unreal.

Hey, guys! Episode 10 is live and I hope you enjoyed it.

This one was difficult to make and, if you’ve seen it, you can understand why. The emotional response hit me like a freight train when I edited all the audio together. I give huge credit to the cast for performing this one and for respecting just how serious of a situation SA is.

While this episode was written to be as realistic as possible, we were all concerned about taking it too far; however, I feel we kept it as viewable as we could with the story that we were telling. This wasn’t to glorify that type of evil or even to get a cheap scare. It was to show that it’s not just a Sister or another type of night creature that can be a monster, but it shows Lillie just how Rio felt during the night of their first date when she tried to prey on him. This episode also shows us how Lillie is starting to change. 

At first, she’s a manipulative killer, but now with the relationships she’s formed, something in her heart is different. She’s becoming uncomfortable with the succubus lifestyle, the feelings in her heart are overwhelming her, her past, and her own conflicting sense of self and guilt is putting so much weight on her soul as well. Her stone cold heart is breaking and something else is taking shape. She’s always been strong, even during her lowest points, and she doesn’t take trouble from anyone for very long, but she’s still a sensitive person that’s walking through life like the rest of us. I’m pleased with her character development thus far and I’m amazed at far she’s come since her early days as a one-dimensional archetype back in 2021. I hope Lillie is becoming someone for you to root for. I love her to death and I want to see her grow even more.

Episode 11 is up next and we’ll see for sure if Lillie is truly changing. Thanks for watching and I wish you the best!

Hey, guys! I’m hard at work on the production for Lilin episode 10 and it’s coming together quite nicely! I hope you are excited for the release as I am.

I have a quick question for you all. Now that the show has moved from a Visual Novel format to a more of an VN/animation hybrid, I was thinking about the text boxes for dialogue.

Should the text box remain?

Should it be removed?

I’d like to hear your opinions regarding that. Thank you very much for your time and I wish you all the best!

How did everyone like episode 9? The plot is still thickening and there’s lots of cool new things we tried out in this one.

The most surprising is the addition of a full closing theme. I’ve wanted to have a traditional closing theme for the longest time, but I never came across the right song that would fit Lilin until the production phases of this episode. When I came across “In Vain,” I felt completely in love with the tone and subject matter. It fits Lillie perfectly and I wanted the ending animation to complement that song.

We see the cause of her inner anguish and confusion, Rio, plus the person that she used to be before everything went wrong, and finally the person she is now. That brings us to the questions “is she truly remorseful for what she’s done?”, “does she truly feel something towards humans like Rio and Yumi?”, “does she want things to return to the way things were?”

Only time will tell as we move further into the next few episodes of this season. Notice how I say “this season.”

“Lilin” Episode 8 is here! I think this has quickly become my favorite episode in terms of character growth. It’s great to see Yumi again and how much of an impact she’s had on Lillie. Yumi is an important piece to the puzzle and she’s definitely got much more in store for us.

This episode was also refreshing to see more of Lillie’s human side, the side she forgot she had. That brings us to the number one question: does she want things to stay as they are? Does she truly want to change like Yaz has claimed? Only one way to find out.

Ep.7 commentary will be up soon along with ep. 8’s commentary, and then it’ll be time for ep. 9 before you know it.

Episode 7 is here and it’s a doozy. In conjunction with new camera work and character movement, we have some insight into the past of our protagonist, Lillie. There seems to be much more to her than appearances would let on. Is she content with how she lives her life as a siren of the night? Does she want to go back to the way things were before everything spiraled out of control? There are plenty of questions and there’s bound to be more pain until the moment of truth. Is redemption just a fantasy? Is it ever too late?
