The Moment You Want To Give Up...
Is the moment you should double down (and that's the hardest thing to do)

When you start feeling like you don't want to practice anymore or if you feel frustrated because you aren't making progress, you need to remind yourself:

👉 This is where average guitarists give up.

But you're here to break out of being average and step into your full potential.

So when you start feeling like "Maybe guitar isn't that important. I should spend time on other stuff."

Remember you've always wanted this since you were a kid. You owe it to yourself. Keep going. Consistency is what makes winners.

🎸 Remember that your biggest gains are on the other side of where you usually give up or start practicing less.

🔥 How to actually get faster on guitar (this works)

Most guitar players try to play fast.

Few train to play fast.

Big difference.

Let me explain...

If you wanted to become an Olympic sprinter, you wouldn’t jog for 3 hours and hope to get faster.

👉 You’d train your fast-twitch muscle fibers with short, explosive bursts of speed—on purpose.

👉 And you’d do it daily.

Playing fast on guitar works the same way.

Your fingers aren’t slow because you’re untalented.

They’re slow because you haven’t trained them to fire like a sprinter off the blocks.

This is why I use something called Speed Bursts.

Here’s how it works:

🎸 Take a short, simple lick.

🎸 CRANK the speed and burst a few notes at a time.

Rest. Repeat. Rest. Repeat.

Stop before your hand gets tired or sloppy.

10 minutes a day of this is better than 3 hours of slow, “safe” practice.

It’s how real speed is built.

No magic. Just focused reps on the thing that matters.

Most guitarists avoid this because it’s hard, it’s humbling, and it doesn’t feel “musical” right away.

But the ones who do it?

They get scary fast.

-Nate

P.S. Inside the Guitar Prodigy System, I walk you through how to build real speed using Speed Bursts—step-by-step, no guesswork. If you want to shred clean, tight, and accurate… click here for the full program breakdown 👇

You ever watch a guitarist rip through a solo like it’s nothing? That’s not talent—it’s technique. And if you’re not mastering alternate picking, you’re choosing to stay stuck.

Here’s why:

👉 Efficiency → Down-picking everything? Wasting motion. Random picking patterns? Inconsistent. Alternate picking? High efficiency.

👉 Control & Clarity → Sloppy picking most often comes from the pick hitting the wrong strings. Especially at high speeds. Learn the correct way to string transition so you sound clean.

👉 Freedom → Once this is automatic, your fingers stop fighting you. You play what you want, not what you can.

Most guitarists “kinda” work on it and stay stuck. Masters learn the proven mechanics and drill it until it’s second nature.

Want to actually play what’s in your head? Master your Alternate Picking so your technique doesn’t hold you back any longer.

Want To Get Better? Stop Doing It Alone

Most people try to master a skill alone. They watch youtube videos, buy one-off courses, and noodle alone in their room—then wonder why progress is slow.

Here’s the truth: Skills grow faster in the right environment.

👉 You need people ahead of you to show the way.
👉 You need people beside you to push harder.
👉 You need people behind you to remind you how far you’ve come.

The best? They don’t just work hard—they plug into a community that forces them to level up. Because when you’re surrounded by people obsessed with getting better, guess what happens? You get better.

So stop isolating. Find your people. Accelerate your growth.

Every guitarist wants that effortless “play anything” feel on the fretboard.

But most? They think that music theory is going to unlock that for them. But the problem is that music theory is only half of it.

Here’s the truth: Fretboard freedom isn’t just about theory knowledge—it’s about technical ability as well.
👉 If your fingers are slow, your ideas are useless.
👉 If your technique is sloppy, your playing is capped.
👉 If your technique is holding you back, your creativity will always be limited.

The greats? They didn’t just know theory—they are masters of technique as well.

Master the mechanics, and the music flows effortlessly. Skip them, and you’ll always be fighting your own hands.

So—are you willing to develop your skills?

If so, you can join our free 30-Day Alternate Picking Challenge.

Stop Looking For Easy - Start Solving Problems

Most people waste time looking for the easy way. The shortcut. The hack that lets them play like their favorite guitarist, right this second

Guitar masters? Innovators? They don’t look for easy. They look for solutions.

Go listen to enough interviews with some of the greatest guitar players, and it becomes clear that they are obsessed with solving problems.

It’s how John Petrucci mastered his alternate picking. It’s how Rick Graham became one of the best economy pickers in the world.

Because mastery isn’t about avoiding problems—it’s about becoming the person who solves them.
👉 Instead of giving up, they patiently look for solutions.
👉 Instead of looking for a shortcut, they learn to enjoy the process of solving problems

Success isn’t found in avoiding the grind. It’s in embracing it, solving the hard stuff, and leveling up because of it.

Shift from seeker to solver. That’s how you become a master.

Keep looking for solutions,

Nate

People take way too long to get good at guitar. But here’s the thing...

It’s not their fault.

THE PROBLEM 👇

They’ve never been taught a proven method for learning at an accelerated rate.

They’ve just learned random songs, scales and bits of music theory from their guitar teachers.

But there is a way to master the guitar in HALF the time. And this is where people push back…

“But nate, there’s no substitution for putting in the time. There’s no short cuts, man!”

Sure there’s no short cuts IF you’re 95% of people who don’t understand how to practice like the pros.

THE SOLUTION 👇

But There is actually a way to accelerate your skill development at twice the speed.

It’s called Deliberate Practice. It's what they teach at the high-end music schools, and it’s actually quite simple

Most people engage in casual practice.

CASUAL PRACTICE is 👇
- Mindlessly Practice: repeating the same thing, hoping for magic
- Distracted practice
- Practice without a clear goal
- Practice without feedback from an expert

And that’s why they stay average.
Expert guitarists however use deliberate practice and get stupid good.

DELIBERATE PRACTICE is👇
- Identifying weaknesses, fixing them with painful focus
- Tracking improvement
- Practicing with a clear goal
- Using direct feedback from an expert guitarist

They don’t just put in time—they optimize how they train. They get feedback, push limits, and stay uncomfortable. That’s how you level up FAST.

Stay sharp,

Nate
