Hello! Hello! Yes, we are alive! Yes, weāre still together! You might have noticed weāve taken time off YouTube and kind of disappeared without saying a word. This was never part of our plan. The weeks seemed to just disappear from under our feet. One minute it was October and now itās February. Back in October, before our trip to Scotland, we had a very traumatic situation happen at home. Then another one soon after. These situations involved my very close family and for their privacy we canāt really explain what has happened. But our trip to Scotland was put on hold and we thought maybe in a few weeks weād be back on the road. This obviously hasnāt happened, and weāve instead been around loved ones to support them through a difficult time. Itās been a heavy time for us, and while we have been wanting to film a video since December explaining everything, our hearts and heads havenāt been in the right place and itās felt impossible to pick up the camera. We thought a quick community post wouldnāt do it justice but in hindsight might have been worth posting just to let you know weāre okay. Weāre sorry for worrying some of you. Weāve really had to prioritise our personal lives and have barely logged into any of our YouTube/ IG/ FB accounts. But thank you to those whoāve messaged and checked in on us.
Iām writing this because weāre finally ready to pick up the camera again and hope to post an update video in the next couple of weeks. We have some big, big plans for this year and thatās also been taking a lot of our time and attention. Needless to say, this past few months has been a recalibration, a reset on the past 5-7 years of our lives and the sowing of some new seeds. Hi my loves,
A note to say that for the foreseeable future, weāll be releasing videos every 2 weeks, rather than weekly. We used to film and edit the same week for the best part of 5 years, which in hindsight, is bordering on masochistic behaviour. We were finding ourselves in a cycle of burnout every 6 months or so, with little space for creativity or anything else in our lives. So, now, weāre trialling a twice monthly upload - with a focus on better videos and a more fulfilling experience for ourselves, and hopefully, naturally for you too.
We truly love making videos. Expressing myself (Chesca) through film is one of my greatest joys in life. Telling stories of the places we go and the experiences we have is such a genuinely fulfilling experience for both of us.
But truthfully, weāre also tired of the soap opera that Youtube can become. If youāre not careful itās a hamster wheel that feels impossible to escape from. We donāt want to stop making videos, but something had to change. Itās already amazing how much a difference switching to a fortnightly upload schedule has made in our lives. More time to explore and have fun, which naturally makes a better video, more time to learn new things and be creative, more time for each other, to enjoy the life we live. Yes, Youtube will be less lucrative for us. But bury me now and jump on my grave if we start making decisions based on how much money weāll earn. After all, we genuinely believe true success is judged by how much fun youāre having.
So, youāll find us every other Sunday at 4pm GMT! Weāve been in Ireland the past week, driving the Wild Atlantic Way (photo evidence of us scoffing our first Irish breakfast in Dingle) and we just might not want to come home! Weāve had the last few months to reset and recalibrate our lives after an immensely intense few years. As many of you know, the Pan American trip ended pretty suddenly. But with time, space and hindsight we are incredibly happy and know we made the right decision. Thank you to everyone who sent messages checking we were okay or just sending love and support. We appreciate you so much and while we didnāt expect to take this much time off, itās been what we needed to get back on our feet.
We spent our first week back in the van down in Cornwall, blessed with beautiful sunshine. It was so good to be back filming, getting creative and just doing what we love, stripped back to the basics. The video of our 7 day road trip into the heart of Cornwall is going live this Sunday 14th July at 4pm. Hope you can catch it before England kick Spain's š š š

Hello world!
Just a quick note to let you know we're alive, we're doing extremely well and we're about to move back into Sophia and return to the road after 2 months off. It's been a much needed reset and re-evaluation of everything but we're so excited to get back filming and exploring, two of the things we love most. We were supposed to be back last week, but I (Chesca) came down with a bad chest infection and I'm just coming out the other side of it now.
