If you don't have a good laptop, don't learn Mobile App Development ❌
.
.
.
What do I mean by a good laptop? What are the minimum specs required to start running tools like Android Studio, VS Code, Emulators..

Here is the answer -

1. For Mac Users -
8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD is good enough - I use this laptop (M2 Chip) primarily, I run Flutter Apps + alongside I record tutorials too, no lagging. The approx project size of a complete Flutter App is around 2.5 GB. In a year or two, if you build multiple projects, it may show you No Space Left, but then you can clear Project Build Caches & Xcode Archives to get some space. Overall, it's a good laptop costing around 80K INR (you can put student discount too) for an App Developer.

2. For Non-Mac Users -
16 GB, 512 GB SSD + x TB HDD should be preferred - I had 8 GB, 512 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD in my first year when I started App Development (HP dr0002tx), soon I had to extend my RAM upto 16 GB. Note - Graphics Card does not play a key role in App Development, so if you are not going to do Game Dev, 3D Modelling, dont spend money on Graphics Card, instead get better RAM. A budget of around 75-80K INR is enough for this.

For Web Development, 8 GB, 256 GB (Non Mac) is also enough.

Common Points -
1. If you are in college, pls prefer a laptop only, desktop or Mac-mini won't help you, you need a system with you always.
2. Prefer Slim laptops (under 2kg), they are easier to carry around, many people buy MSI/Acer Gaming laptops, but they are quite heavy. (Personal Opinion)
3. Graphics Card is only compulsory if you do video editing, 3d modelling, game development or you play games. Except these, in college you dont need it. For AI/ML model training we have online GPUs to help us.

Those who don't invest a lot of time in DSA, its okay...

Yes its true that DSA is not used in day to day software engineering/development job, it provides a systematic approach to employers to hire good engineers, thats why most of the tech interviews revolve around it. But many people can't relate to it in real life and start hating it, I am one of those.

If you find DSA boring, its fine, instead of starting from DSA, start from the below concepts, everyone has their own way of learning, this may help -

1. High Level Design
2. Low Level Design
3. Basic System Design
4. Software Design Patterns
5. Data Analysis using Python

I am not saying these are the replacement of DSA but it will help you start connecting tech and real world, eg. What happens when you book a cab in Uber? Once you understand why/what you are coding, then you would like to optimise your code, and for that you would want to learn DSA!!

I hope this helps

DM me/ Book a call, I am help students build their profile/resume.

Recently, many people have been asking for my views on the claim that "Flutter is DEAD."

Numerous developers and content creators have shared their points of view, but it's important to remember that these are just opinions, which might not necessarily align with reality

As an engineer, I prioritize data and trends over individual opinions. To provide a more objective perspective, I've attached a Google Trends chart comparing Flutter with other popular cross-platform mobile development frameworks like React Native and Ionic, based on global job search data.

My advice to everyone is to rely on data. The graph I've shared demonstrates the trends clearly. As long as the trend for Flutter remains upward, I will continue to explore and invest in it. Remember, technology frameworks don't vanish overnight. For those who are data-driven, it will be evident when a framework begins to decline.

I encourage you to conduct your own research using the numerous online tools available to analyze trends and analytics. This way, you can form informed opinions based on solid data rather than just following popular narratives.
