$TSLA: Anatomy of a Broken Stock

As of early this morning, #Tesla $TSLA was the worst stock in the $SPX & $QQQ in 2024.
You didnโt need to be a genius to stay away from this one.
If youโve been watching, you got plenty of signals to avoid including:
-December 28: Red Dog Reversal Sell at $252
-March 4: big engulfing red bar at $198
These faulty technical signals came BEFORE the bad delivery numbers.
Now itโs $167ish as Wall Street hits it with downgrades.
The lesson here is itโs okay to love โem and leave โem.
Once upon a time, $AAPL was my #1 P&L generator.
Then it was $TSLA.
Now itโs $NVDA.
And tomorrow it could be some other name.
Leaders come and go.
We must use our process and routine to spot those changes.
Never marry stocks! Only date them!
P.S. Funny how it got downgraded 3 times today and went red to green... HMMMMM! You can make money from broken names but you have to be surgical...

Why Iโve Avoided $AAPL

No matter what the name is, when itโs below the 8/21 day, I want to avoid it.
$AAPL gave up leadership status to $NVDA $AMD $SMCI $LLY etc. and can feel like a headwind.
Plus people now care about the usual negative chatter about weakness in China, high P/E, etc.
Sometimes Apple just ignores it all and grinds up - this is not that time.
It's below the $173.60 low.
See if that gets reclaimed.
If it doesnโt, the next level of interest below is the $165 to $167 area.
This leads to the important conversation about time frames.
$AAPL might see new highs in 12 months.
But for now itโs out of play.
If youโre an active trader looking for cash flow, there are better places to be.
So know your time frame and what you can handle.
