Maj. Gen. Lisa J. Hou, D.O., joined the New Jersey Army National Guard in 1994 while studying as a medical student. As she progressed throughout her career, she distinguished herself, earning the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal. Maj. Gen. Lisa J. Hou, D.O., has served in Afghanistan and Iraq and participated in State Partnership Program work with partners Albania and Cyprus.
Examples like hers give us a moment to pause and recognize the contributions and dedication of all Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to the social, economic, and cultural fabric of the United States.
