CHANNEL UPDATE: I've not been able to post at the frequency I'd like to as of late because of 2 obstacles impacting the channel that I felt was worth sharing...

1) Every golfer's worst nightmare came true for me recently when my precious, custom babies were stolen out of my car during a family visit to Kansas City. It was heart-wrenching. Not only did these degenerate scumbags steal my clubs, they made off with 2 pairs of golf shoes, 2 pairs of sunglasses, my rangefinder, my iPad, and my drone. Fortunately, I had most of these items insured so they can be replaced but with all of the global supply-chain issues going on right now, I'm looking at 3-6 weeks before my new clubs will be built and delivered. I say this to offer a reminder that this can happen to anyone. If you love and value your clubs as much as I do, do yourself a favor and take 10 minutes to talk with your insurance advisor about strategies available to protect them. In total, I had $6k worth of equipment in my bag and I was able to insure all of it for $67/year (not a month) with NO ($0) deductible. It's a no brainer in my opinion. It's quite difficult to film golf Rules videos without clubs so in the meantime, I will find some replacements and carry on as best I can!

2) While I live in North Carolina, I'm currently living in Iowa with my wife, Taylor. She is a Travel Nurse providing COVID support for one of the hospitals here. We'll be living here through the first week of January before making our way back to North Carolina. The challenge with Iowa is that it is COLD. The cold doesn't deter me as a golfer or to film but we've experienced days that only get as high as the teens. As a result, golf courses in the area are shutting down for the season, which obviously makes it difficult to film. There are still a few open but the shutdowns have displaced the public to the few remaining open so the times when I'm able to get out and film are busy. I don't have the luxury of setting up camp during play of a hole to film at the quality I want without holding up the group behind me lol. I'm actively trying to work out a deal with some courses to work around this. That being said, we have shockingly great weather this week so I'm heading out to film as much as I can. New videos coming ASAP!

BIG NEWS!!! Some of you already know this but earlier this week I took the USGA Rules Exam. You can only take the exam once per calendar year. The exam is 4 hours long and full of a variety of mind melting golf rules questions and scenarios. I submitted my answer to the final question with only 7 minutes to spare and crossed my fingers...

Not only did I pass-- but I passed at "Expert" level, achieving the USGA's highest rules certification. I've now earned the title of "USGA Certified Rules Expert" and did it on my very first attempt! I still have a lot of work to do but this is a massive step towards reaching my ultimate goal of one day working a Major Championship.

I started this channel simply as a way to spread accurate rules information to the members at my home course and it's already grown well beyond what I ever thought it could. I'm incredibly grateful for each and every one of you who's supported the channel by subscribing and engaging with likes/comments/sharing. It means the world. I have big things planned for you in the future. Let's keep pushing forward and continue building the best golf rules channel on YouTube! Onward and upward! ⛳️
