These are the snares I'm using
1 - 14*5.75 Brass
2 - 14*5.75 Steel
3 - 14*6 AQ2 Maple
4 - 13*7 Beech
All are awesome @SonorDrumTube beauties ❤️❤️❤️

TECHNIQUE - A MEANS TO AN END
I'm always looking for more videos of my favourite drummers. Any new video I find I DEVOUR it and look for any new ideas.
I was looking for some new Vinnie Coliauta recently and came across this video.
I love seeing any amazing musician in the studio but you know what caught my eye? Vinnie pinky at 0:45
You see that's bad technique...kinda.
All fingers should be touching the stick at all times. It gives you more power, more top-end finger speed and more control.
And I would say that Vinnie does NOT have bad technique at all. Quite the opposite it's practically flawless! So why does he do that on this song, at that time?
Well, it gives a sound. It's the best technique possible to achieve the lightness of touch that the music needs for this section. (David Garibaldi does this too fyi)
AND THAT'S THE LESSON!
Technique is a means to an end and the end is creating good music.
We should practice for perfect technique, knowing that later on we can mess it up on purpose.
Hope that inspires you, educates you or just shows you an amazing drummer doing what he does best!
See you in the practice room

Today is my birthday and it's a good one! 37's not too bad. My baby face means I still get asked for ID sometimes! 😂
I just want to let you know about my online drum school www.davemajormusic.com and that it exists.
I love helping drummers all over the world practice smarter and unlock their drumming voice so if you want to have a look it's there.
