IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL VIEWERS AND SUBSCRIBERS
I am delighted to inform you that all videos on this channel have now been fully restored. This includes content that was previously muted or displayed as only one minute long. Due to a technical error on the YouTube platform, some videos may still appear as being one minute in duration. However, when played, they are complete.
To Subscribers and New Viewers
If you have not yet subscribed to this channel, I strongly encourage you to do soāand ensure your subscription is set to PUBLIC. Only public subscribers can be seen, and this will be essential for staying informed about forthcoming changes to the channel. Subscribing privately will mean missing out on future updates.
Video Markings Explained
You will notice that all videos are now marked with labels such as FU, FUA, FUAS, FUR, ZAR, and ZARA. These indicate the current stage of my Fair Usage application process. Every single video on this channel has been submitted for approval to be used for educational and deaf aid purposes.
Usage Restrictions
It is crucial to note that none of the videos on this channel are intended for downloading or commercial purposes, such as use in karaoke venues. Every video takes a minimum of two hours to produce, and with over 6,100 videos currently available, this project represents more than 12,000 hours of labour.
If you appreciate the effort and the value this channel brings, I kindly ask that you show your support. Contributions can be made via PayPal at cyborg@hotmail.co.za or through a monthly pledge on Patreon. Please note, however, that Patreon deducts a significant percentage in fees. Alternatively, you can use the āThanksā button on the videos, though YouTube also retains a substantial portion of contributions, particularly for videos still under copyright claims.
Technology and Quality Notes
It is important to understand that technological advancements over the past two years have significantly improved sound quality. Older videos on the channel may not reflect the same audio fidelity achievable today. Moreover, when videos are uploaded to YouTube, sound quality is often reduced. If you wish to place a custom order using your purchased copy of a song, the resulting quality will be far superior to the YouTube version.
This channel has been creating karaoke content for 42 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to producing the highest possible quality. While older samples may showcase outdated technology, the newer videos reflect the full extent of our current capabilities.
Inclusivity and Uniqueness
This channel stands apart by prioritising deaf aid, music education, and inclusivity. Unlike typical karaoke platforms, it focuses on international classics, including genres like opera and fado, and features songs that were never previously synchronised with lyrics. Many videos are provided with and without vocals, enabling learners and enthusiasts alike to engage with and appreciate the music.
Our aim is to foster inclusivity, and we have humbly petitioned recording companies and artists to release their copyrights for this purpose. This is not a channel for piracyāit is a platform for education, appreciation, and support.
Call to Action
To help this project grow, we need public subscribers, views, donations, and sponsors. This channel serves as a demo of what we can offer. Much of what you find here is unavailable elsewhere or is presented at a significantly higher quality. Please share this channel with your friends and family, encouraging them to subscribe publicly and support its growth. Together, we can ensure this channel achieves the audience it so richly deserves.
Thank you for your time and support.

This channel is dedicated to a very dear friend of mine, Margaret, who has sadly passed away. Margaret was profoundly deaf from birth. I first met her in the 1980s, a time when sharing my love for music and song with her seemed almost impossible. Back then, the internet was non-existent, and the wealth of lyrics and translation tools we now take for granted were simply unavailable. Yet, even then, I was experimenting with creating karaoke on VHS tapes.
One day, I shared one of these tapes with Margaret. Her reaction was unforgettableāshe was utterly overjoyed. For the first time, she could truly understand the songs whose rhythms and beats she had long felt but never comprehended. This profound moment of connection and her sheer excitement inspired me to dedicate myself to creating more karaoke, synchronising lyrics, and even translating them into English.
Years later, even as our lives took us to different corners of the country, our bond remained strong. When I visited her, one of our favourite outings was to enjoy a meal at a venue offering karaoke. You might think she could have simply read the lyrics on paper or their translations, but itās not the same. The synchronisation of lyrics with the timing of the music creates an entirely different experience.
This alignment of words and melody transforms how a deaf person engages with a songāwhether itās to understand its meaning, learn to sing along, or even grasp a new language. The power of karaoke lies in this harmony, which brings music alive in ways that transcend hearing.
Today, there are over 450 million deaf people worldwide, representing approximately 5% of the global population. This diverse group, spanning countless languages and nations, remains largely excluded from the world of music as we know it. Karaoke, with its synchronised lyrics, has the potential to bridge this gap and bring the joy of music to millions who would otherwise be deprived of it.
In the spirit of inclusivity, I firmly believe that karaoke should be permitted as a tool for empowerment and accessibility, free from the constraints of copyright claims. By embracing this vision, we can transform how 450 million people experience and connect with music.
