Shoutout to ‪@jamesbaxter1236‬ for standing up against AI. The animation industry will fight AI once and for all! If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have support him at all. You are a legend for calling out AI, James. If they think AI is a new tool, they're wrong!

Again, kudos to you, James, for standing up against AI. #StandwithAnimation

When 9Story acquired Garfield and Friends on May 25th, 2016, They decided to remastered the series with its HD treatment and made in widescreen version, with the intro been reanimated in Toon Boom by Glenn Zimmerman, in which the original version of the intro (done by Kevin Petrilak) was too low to upscale from the VHS master.

This, for example, comes from my personal favourite episode "The Genuine Article", where Garfield meets Gabriel who acts like him. In this scene right here, Garfield is afraid that Gabriel might stole his girl, his own show and even worse, his own merchandising (most famously the Stuck on You toy that it was stuck inside car windows).

It became one of my personal favourite episodes of all time alongside "The Garfield Rap", "The Guy of Her Dreams", "Garfield's Garbage Can and Tin Pan Alley Revue", "The Garfield Musical", "Snow Wade and the 77 Dwarfs", "Peace and Quiet", "Cute for Loot", "The Feline Philosopher" "A Tall Tale", "The Life and Times of the Lasagna Kid", "Garfield Goes Hawaiian", "Monday Misery", "Five Minute Warning", "Mistakes Will Happen", "Astrocat" and "The Garfield Opera".

According to Jim Davis, "This is the first time we’ve awarded the rights to a single distribution partner who will handle all markets and all platforms."

I just saw The Garfield Movie at The Light Cinema. And I have to say that this is one of the best animated films of 2024 alongside The Boy and the Heron & Despicable Me 4 (although it will come out in July).

DNEG Animation did a grand job working on this film, Mark Dindal did a good job directing it and Chris Pratt did an amazing job voicing Garfield in this film. Although it got some bad reviews for its creative liberties taken with the source material, I am very impressed with this film because it has many references in the film, like when Garfield crosses the road at the beginning, you can see the sign that says "Lorenzo's Music Store" which it is a homage to the late Lorenzo Music himself.

There are also references from the comic strip too, like Garfield was blown in the wind or got thrown out the window, which comes from these respective strips on May 30th, 1982 and March 29th, 1981.

I found this very funny because of its slapstick humour, the voice acting and even that one time that Garfield made a "Stuck on you" reference. But hey, There are some scenes that frightens me, like Jinx jumpscare Garfield, Vic and Odie, in which the first looks like he was doing karate chopping when he got scared. I find that scary but funny at the same time. Maybe I imagined that this scene comes from one of "Garfield's Tales of Scary Stuff".

But, the one thing that it was emotional for me was at the beginning of the film where Vic left Garfield behind and tries to look something to eat while Garfield met Jon for the first time and was adopted. Every time I saw this scene, I was so moved because I felt the same way when Ziggy got adopted a month back.

But still, This is one of the greatest films of all time, despite this film has some negative reception from critics.

I'll rate this film a "BURY ME IN CHEESE" out of 10.
