Sunday, May 11th – 5:30 PM

Just received an email from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources about this weekend’s “free fishing” event — which started Saturday and ends today. Assuming it wraps at midnight, that leaves about six hours’ notice.

Not sure who’s handling communications over there, but this kind of last-minute update doesn’t do much to encourage participation or public engagement.

Disappointing to see how poorly these things are promoted. Ontarians deserve better.
