I just posted a complete guide to adding lyrics to a Finale score. I've addressed all the basics (Lyrics Menu, Lyrics Window, Type Into Score, Word Extensions, Adjusting Lyrics Baseline), but included a few "Power User" techniques, as well !

Based on a 1940 poem by Theodore Roetke, this piece portrays an overnight train ride across America's heartland - with nocturnal imagery and musical allusions to the mechanical energy of the locomotive. I just posted a video of my latest composition - BUSTER ON THE RUN! for Large Percussion Ensemble. This piece, commissioned by the award-winning Nazareth Area High School Percussion Ensemble, Rick Hilborn, director - is lots of fun, with rollicking mallet lines and slapstick percussion. The music can be played alone, or in sync with the finale scene from the 1921 Buster Keaton silent film, THE GOAT. The video shows the score as the music is played, along with the scene from THE GOAT inset (screen-on-screen).

I've recut the original 1921 footage and composed/produced a new, original score for this 24-minute, 2-reel slapstick comedy film. You can turn ON notifications to receive a reminder.
Here's synopsis of THE GOAT (which is short for "Scapegoat"): A series of zany adventures begins when
Buster is accidentally photographed for a mugshot, causing him to be mistaken for the notorious criminal Dead Shot Dan. This fast-moving comedy from the Silver Screen age of silent film has it all: abundant chase scenes, a villain, romance, and some amazing physical comedy feats (for which Keaton was known)!
