Hi friends! I'm still on the east coast for week, but the Race to Alaska waits for no one and time ticks on. Since Sylvia and I are stuck working for another two weeks and aren't able to put time on the water sailing, we've been busy putting together our latest fundraiser in collaboration with âȘ@orcalab2398âŹ. Hello! It's been a while! (TLDR: more videos soon, Kayleen is sailing to Alaska)
After sailing back from Mexico on our 44 day passage, I was intending to take a month or two off Youtube, which somehow turned into 8! I have had a couple lovely emails from subscribers checking in, which made me realize I really need to do a post updating all you on where we have been. Luckily for All About Spray, the sailing dream is still well alive, it just looks a little different these days, more on that later.
First, Tyler and I competed on Amazing Race Canada (now streaming on Crave), where we ended up in second place. The show aired throughout the summer and into September, which was quite the rollercoaster to watch ourselves on national television (especially when you don't get to edit yourselves like here on youtube!).
Shortly after, Tyler proposed! We've been through a lot together in the last 6+ years, supporting each other's dreams as much as possible. We're currently working on buying a property here on Vancouver Island, Canada and are planning the wedding for this September.
I've been working my butt off up here in Canada, it looks a little bit different than this time last year in Mexico! I've been commercial diving on contract in Newfoundland and working as much as possible. Tyler is back competing in the world cup circuit for Canada Snowboard and just won his first two world cups! Speedy guy.
Lastly, my best friend and I bought a sailboat! Enter ORCA, a Santana 20, which we are about to sail to Alaska in. Sylvia and I have entered in the Race to Alaska, a sailing/rowing race which starts in June. We have started the training and outfitting process and will be documenting the process here on Youtube. Update from the middle of the Pacific! Helllooo everyone! Itâs been quiet here. Tyler and I have been away filming a show (soon to be announced!) and then on May 26 my dad and I left Mexico aboard Footloose and headed out to open ocean. We are on day 12 of approximately 35 on our way back to Canada.

We made it! Hey YouTube! After a super tough, but overall successful passage from the west coast of Canada to San Francisco, USA, we are finally reaping the rewards of our hard work!
