Less than 2 weeks ago, my first attempt at a 21Km #halfmarathon almost killed me. I was running too fast and on the last 100 meter stretch, my body said âyou know what? Fuck youâ.
Maybe one day I will be able to confidentely speak about this but for now, all I can saw is, it was really bad. That was the closest I have faced death, and accepted. I finished at the ambulance' door being fed electrolytes and shish!
Despite the rains today, I pushed on, I was enjoying the run, finished on a high and with a smile on my face. I feel energetic, like I can do it all over again! Maybe one day I will run a marathon, but for now, I delight in the half!

First time doing 21Km and I must say it was tough! Going from my usual 10km to 21Km wasnât a very good idea! I think I pushed too hard and I paid dearly for not hydrating! Big mistake! Lesson learned the hard way! We try again next year! Now is time to heal!
Thank you @just_moniqq for noticing how badly I was holding up and advising accordingly!

There is a point you get during the climb, and you can feel your soul watching your body! Itâs like being at the edge of this life as we know it, a point where transition takes place into the next world.
Itâs almost like a hallucination experience, which is why I like making content while up there to keep my mind distracted. I can only imagine what people feel like in Everest, but I hope to experience it in the near future.
This is my 3rd time climbing #MtKenya, Lenana Summit, all in a span of months. My first summit was on June 8th via Sirimon route, followed by a 2nd summit on July 27th via the Narumoru Mackinderâs route.
Having successfully completed the two routes, it was time to up the challenge with a traverse. This meant doing the climb via Narumoru Mackinderâs route and exiting via Sirimon route.
A traverse is no joke and what a day it was! The weather was very favorable on our way up. The sky was blue and the sun was shining on us. In fact, I laid down on the peak to enjoy some sun for a whole hour!
Coming down via Sirimon is quite challenging especially from the peak to Shiptons camp due to the steep and sand covered slope. One has to be extra careful to avoid falling down. You have to constantly use your feet to break your speed, and this puts a lot of pressure on your knees!
At Shiptons, we had a cup of tea, rested a bit then continued. Along the way, we experienced a hailstorm, but it was actually fun. Hailstones donât make you wet unlike water drops, since the hailstones just slide off to the ground where they melt!
Unfortunately, the hailstorm reduced visibility of the path, and at some point we were lost but managed to find our way back after like 10mins of being lost in the water bogs. The water bogs did not spare my shoes, as they got soaked, and that meant freezing toes!
We made it to Old Moses several hours later, cold, sweaty and drained! What a day it was! The mountains had once again, been kind to us.

No.4 is where the secrets at. Doesnât have to be a drunkard, but talk to the neighbors⌠they will tell you of flattened graves, family land feuds, grabbed roads & so on.
In some areas, especially where there are land schemes, you better know that a share certificate is as powerful as the title deed. Your lawyer unless he is well informed on the said area wonât even know this. But neighbors will. There are so many cases of people who have bought land with legit title deeds only for the âreal ownersâ to pop up later with the share certificate/ lot number.

In the line of our work we meet people from all walks of life. From people aspiring to buy homes, to mid level and high level buyers. When it comes to high level clients, we mainly encounter their representatives. Rarely, do we even meet the actual buyer.
These representatives handle everything including the payments, only for them to disclose at the very last minute who the buyer is.
On this late afternoon, I was free and decided to join Ray on a viewing that he hadâŚ
The client finally got there and as their German Machine pulled in, I noticed the initials on the number plate and asked Ray, who uses those initials?
Before he could respond, the car came to a halt, the body guard jumped out quickly and opened the back left door.
Immediately this gentleman came out he went like âwho is Rayâ. Now ladies and gentlemen, this is a question only asked by people who actually watch our show. We have an inside joke that Ray has become an enigma, due to the tag line in our videos, âcall Rayâ, with our viewers curious to find out who he is.
As we laughed and exchanged pleasantries, the only thing that was going on in my mind is âam I dreaming or something? You mean this guy watches our show?â
Now, donât get me wrong, I know a lot of people watch Mansa Plus, but there are levels to this shit! It had not crossed my mind that we had such eyes on our work⌠their representatives yes, but him, this was new.
As we went through the house, I noticed that the client and his team were on their phones checking their compasses.
I have learnt a bit about Feng shui from Dennis, an architect we are designing a house with in Kijani, and once I saw the compasses I knew we are fucked! They were checking the house placement/positioning. You can research on feng shui to understand more about this.
I had also read somewhere that wealthy people wonât buy houses that donât align with feng shui. Normally, they wonât tell you why, they will just say, âletâs keep lookingâ. This was also the first time that I was seeing a client applying this.
While most people might look at these things as just being superstitious, the wealthy donât take chances.
Everything was going well until he saw the swimming pool placement. Now if you have already googled what #fengshui is or you already know, then you understand that the pool is not supposed to be directly at the back yard of a property but rather on the back left of the property. Once he saw the pool he went like, âthe person who was staying in this house must have fallen sick because of thatâ and went on to discuss that he would have to move the swimming pool. And yes, they were right about that person falling sick đŹ
And as the discussions went on, my mind was just rushing back to all the properties we have toured and whether they aligned with Feng shui or not.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is true what J.P. Morgan once said, that millionaires donât use astrology, but Billionaires do! They will bring all those beliefs on the table even when buying a house.
If you are building, remember that a house is not just a house, how you place it, how you play with the elements of water is key to energy flow. And maybe, you donât give a damn, but what if you ever want to sell the house and the buyer pulls out a compass on you!
Have a fruitful day and be sure to incorporate Feng Shui in your project!
Meantime, be sure to catch up with our latest episode on our YouTube Channel, #MansaPlus.

Let me beat you a story!
I toyed with show casing houses for so long. First person I saw do this was Piers Morgan , more than 10 years ago. He was travelling around the world show casing projects in Monaco, France, and Dubai. Some of those videos are still on YouTube! I was so fascinated by what he was doing I was like, âI want to do this. I want to travel around the world seeing all these world class projects and show casing themâ.
But there was one hinderance (or so I thought)! My English is not the best when it comes to pronunciation. Iâm the perfect example of you can take the man out of the bush but you canât take the bush out of him. Why do I say so, because unlike my sister who is so polished, my R and Ls just decided they will never align đ I remember Raymond Munene and RiccoBeatz giving me lessons back in my musical days but wapi!
Fast forward, I thought this would be a problem, I mean, who would watch a show where the pronunciation is not correct? This meant hiring someone else to present on the show, which brought in the challenge of getting the right person and the resources required for that especially for a new business which I had not even figured out how to make money from. If anything, it was more out of passion than it being a business. I did not even have a business plan. Story for another day!
As a result, I shelved the idea for many years, working on getting the resources required.
In 2020, at the height of Covid, I stumbled on Enes Yilmazer property channel on YouTube, and I immediately noticed the accent. This was all I needed. I kept watching his show like, if all these people can watch and enjoy this show, then they can watch me past my accent. I will forever be grateful and indebted to Enes. Never met him but man just moved me.
What I did not know ladies and gentlemen is that, many people in this country and even beyond talk English the way I talk it. The urban population is tiny, and with the huge internet connectivity it means you get viewers across the country and beyond. When these people watch our show, they feel ârepresentedâ and the accent also gives me an authentic edge that is hard to replicate.
Looking back, itâs hard to believe that I had put that limitation on myself. First of all, no one can go hard for your dream as you can go hard for it. I canât even imagine the hustle that would have been, dealing with a hired presenter, before we broke even. Dreams and passions are labors of love.
What is the limitation you have put on yourself? Maybe itâs just a bubble in your head!

House Kiambu
When the developer is not playing games, and the design team delivers! The location of this house is also a golden factor! It will be a property that cannot be replicated, not forgetting the cherry on top, that it stands on 4 acres of land! What a private property! Canât wait to see it come to life.
