What originally began as a four-piece band, Soapbox Sound - a name that refers to the meaning its songs - has since evolved into an indie-music project headed by John Kroner, consisting of friends and like-minded musical collaborators. In 2018, SBS released their first EP titled "Cornerstone" and have just released their first full-length album, "Homestead" in August of 2022!
Drawing inspiration from the giants of years past including The Beatles and Bob Dylan, as well as indie music bands such as Dr. Dog, Dawes, and Pinegrove, Kroner writes his songs with an acute attention to lyrics as a way to explore age-old themes such as life, love, dreams and death in an earnest and authentic way. In addition to his rock music influences, he also admires and draws from the great Classical and Romantic era composers. He hopes that his admiration for this wide span of genres and time periods finds its way into his music and help breathe original and unique life into his songwriting.
