As a girl student have you ever felt uncomfortable or unsafe in a classroom or lab due to what boys/male teachers said or did (either deliberately or inadvertently). If you are a boy, you may poll on behalf of your sister or friend:

I wish everyone a very Happy Independence Day!

Frankly speaking, "Happy" amidst such recent sad news sounds vacuous. But it would also be unfortunate to just see the bad and completely detract from the good.

In many, many ways we, as a nation and people, have a lot to work on. Yet, there are many things that we can take pride in. So let us keep working to improve day by day - each of us in our own little ways, in the little things that we can actually make a difference.

To the students who are working hard to realize personal aspirations, let this auspicious day be an occasion to remember that even such personal aspirations can one day - even if in the distant future - lead to opportunities for contributing to the nation. Beyond immediate academic goals, let such thoughts inspire and propel you forward with zest and vigour.

Jai Hind!

Had a wonderful podcast session with Prof. G. V. Pavan Kumar (@pavan-sci-history) from IISER Pune on various aspects of academics starting from school days! Check out his entire series: Pratidhvani! (www.youtube.com/playlist?list...)

The plaque has arrived. Thanks YouTube and all the students, parents, well-wishers who have been part of the community.

A big thanks to my wife who supported me wholeheartedly by sacrificing many Saturday evenings when I usually make the videos!

And, thanks to my dad who has watched almost each and every one of the advice videos and given me lots of encouragement and, of course, criticism and advice - in turn!!

Thanks also to my former student ‪@TharunSpeaks‬ ... that reaction video started this all.

An absolutely heart-warming message from a student in the comment section of an old video! Result of patience, hard work, and steadfastness.

Meanwhile, this happened!!!

Feels surreal. Thanks a lot to the whole community!

A big satisfaction is knowing that quite a few students have personally acknowledged that they have been genuinely helped by the advice I have been sharing.

Before filling in the Department choices during JoSAA counselling, what if you could reliably find out what goes in the various Departments?

Currently, students have to rely on various kinds of scattered information, from hearsay, or just guesswork while filling in their Department choices. In this situation, it would be much better to have a set of reliable information sources to find out about the various Departments.

And, what better sources than faculty members from those Departments themselves!

I am planning on a few videos where I will interview faculty members from various Departments to help you find out the relevant information.

The questions will span across:
* What kind of subjects are taught?
* What kind of academic interests are most suited to this Department?
* How heavy is the course load?
* What kind of core jobs are there?
* In what kind of industries graduates of this Department are indispensable?
And more ...

If you have questions that you'd like to be answered, please mention in the comments.
Just don't ask: What are the pay packages like!! This varies across different kinds of jobs from the same Department.
