The Great Escape is the UK’s biggest music conference and the leading event for showcasing new music, covering genres from commercial to indie and folk all under one festival. Mekaal represented Pakistan at The Great Escape to build global connections for the local music sector.
Mekaal has vast experience as a music producer, composer, musician, festival manager and sound engineer. During his almost three-decade long music career, he has represented Pakistan on several international platforms in India, Bangladesh, Canada, USA and the UK. Through his Digital Fidelity Studios, Mekaal has been nurturing local music talent and has been at the forefront of the music industry in Pakistan since the 90s.

Mekaal Hasan Band (MHB) was formed in 2000 by guitarist/composer Mekaal Hasan. The music that MHB plays is a progressive mix between the traditional melodic sensibility of the East and the harmonic sophistication of the West.
The Mekaal Hasan Band offers an array of traditional yet progressive sounds, with flautist Mohammad Ahsan Papu and guitarist Mekaal Hasan creating a charged and captivating atmosphere on which vocalist Rassab Amir performs.
