HUMMINGBIRDS[ANIMAL SCIENCE]

• Hummingbirds are birds native to the Americas .
• As of 2024, 21 hummingbird species are listed as endangered or critically endangered.
• Hummingbirds are the smallest known and smallest living avian theropod dinosaurs.
Coevolution
• Hummingbirds are specialized nectarivores tied to the ornithophilous flowers upon which they feed. This coevolution implies that morphological traits of hummingbirds, such as bill length, bill curvature, and body mass, are correlated with morphological traits of plants, such as corolla length, curvature, and volume.

SADO ISLAND GOLD MINES[GEOGRAPHY]

The Sado Island Gold Mines ,japan are a serial property located on Sado Island, some thirty-five kilometres west of the Niigata Prefecture coast. It is formed of several component parts illustrative of different unmechanised mining methods. Sado Island is of volcanic origin and features two parallel mountain ranges stretching from southwest to northeast and separated by one alluvial plain, the Kuninaka Plain. Gold and silver deposits were formed by the rising of hydrothermal water to the land surface and forming veins in the rock; tectonic activity first submerged the surface deposits to the seabed, which was later raised again by tectonic movements. Placer deposits were exploited in Nishimikawa Area, located on the north-western side of the Kosado Mountains. In addition, the weathering of the volcanic rock exposed ore veins, which were mined underground in the Aikawa-Tsurushi Area, at the southern end of the Osado Mountains range. Mostly tangible attributes reflecting mining activities and social and labour organisation are preserved as archaeological elements, both above and below ground, and landscape features.
In 2024 they were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

OCTOPUSES, FISH HUNT TOGETHER [EVOLUTION]
The fish, such as the goatfish mullidae, perform the search, leading the group to areas of interest. But the big blue octopus (octopus cyanea) determined when the hunt was on.
Some of these species are separated by over 550 million years of evolution, yet they can still organize and cooperate towards a mutual benefit. Both octopuses and fish increase their catch rates of crustaceans, fish, and molluscs .
the interaction between the fish and octopus repeat several times during a hunt, prey is 'shared' in the sense that sometimes the octopus catches the prey, and other times fish catch the prey.
