I had my first church experience today and it was amazing - I now understand why especially in the self development space, people of faith are rising up.
The sermon mentioned the strength of faith in hardship and how the "devil" tries to undermine our faith with things like
Doubt
Deception
Discontentment
This usually would have been hard for me to conceptualize as an atheist but the famous and prolific author Napoleon Hill (think and grow rich) authored a book called "Ouwitting the Devil"
He descontructs the workings of the devil that take place within our minds in both a metaphorical and literal sense.
It's an amazing story where Napoleon calls the devil to stand in court and swear to his schemes truthfully.
This book about the metaphorical nature of the devil brought me 1 step close to faith a year ago.
