I just finished my latest video. I tried something different in that I have no spoken narrative in the video. The refinishing of this chest was so straight forward that I did not think that it was necessary for me to add a narration. Let me know your thoughts. I will always add narration when I feel that it is needed for you to know what I did to refinish, restore or restyle a piece.

This chest started out life as a purple blob. Wait till you see the wood grain in the photos of it when I finished.

I can't wait to show you how I am restyling this dresser! It looks so boring and unassuming! I have been working on it for 2 weeks now and I still have a lot more work to do but when I am finished it will be spectacular! Stay tuned!

SNEAK PEAK
I purchased this yellow tea cart at an estate sale of a woman that had passed over a year ago. It had been painted yellow to match the dining room set with a round table, 4 chairs and a small hutch. As a set it actually look bright and cheerful. There is just no way I would ever strip a table and 4 chairs so that was not an option for me to purchase! I hate refinishing dining room sets. However, this little tea cart had potential. It had been moved to the covered patio by the owner when the wheels fell off. From examining it, it appeared to only need a new thumb screw. It was dusty and dirty. The brass was extremely tarnished but the wood appeared to be in good shape. I had an idea of what might be under that paint but was not certain. I guess it was out of curiosity more than anything that I purchased this tea cart. What is under that yellow paint?

SNEAK PEAK!

I found this beauty on Facebook Marketplace and knew it had to be restored! The woman I purchased it from said mother in law, gave it to her teenage daughter. Apparently, the daughter decided to paint it and this is how it turned out! She painted it pink and blue and then apparently tried to but a muddy colored stain or glaze on part of it. The mother said that her daughter did not like it when she finished so she talked her parents into buying her a new bedroom set. I purchased this vanity and a chest of drawers.

This art deco vanity is solid wood!!! NO particle board.

The veneer is on the out side of the drawer fronts as well as the INSIDE of the drawer fronts with double dove tail drawers. I can't wait to see what is under this paint! Stay tuned-my video will be posted this week. If you subscribe, you will be the first one notified.

This 100+ year old Jacobian hutch was in need of restoration. I wanted to respect it's age when I restored it so I chose to distress it a little. I think that made a big difference in the final results. For it's age this hutch was in remarkably good shape. The full video is now posted.

Do you have a favorite paint stripper? I did too until I actually compared it with 2 other popular brands of paint remover/stripper. I was surprised at the results and perhaps you will be too.

I finally finished this Mid-Century Modern Dresser for the Ugly Duckling Challenge. Wow! I spent 8 days full time on this dresser. When you see the video you will see that I am not exaggerating. I was one of the last to post my video on the playlist for the Ugly Duckling Challenge because it took me 2 full days to edit the video. I am very proud of the final result of this dresser. No one would guess that it was so damaged to begin with.

Since I am going through a LOT of stripped on the mid century modern dresser that I am using for the Ugly Duckling change, I thought I would test different brands. I have only used Citristip. So I got some Watco and Kwik Strip and stripped 3 areas on the top of the dresser. WOW! I was shocked at the results. I will be releasing a video showing my results so you can see for yourself and then decide which one you like best.
