VDP is a slow release oral minoxidil pill designed to be taken twice a day: each pill is 8.5mg of oral minoxidil.
The formulation slowly releases oral minoxidil into the body. With regular oral minoxidil, side effects tend to come from the sudden peaking effect as the drug exerts its physiological effects shortly after administering it.

My opinion: If you think about it, Amplifica is actually closer to a cure than Pelage when it comes to hair loss. Obviously, Pelage is further ahead in clinical trials, but that doesnโt necessarily mean they are closer to solving the root problem of follicle miniaturization and regeneration.
With Veradermics securing more VC funding for their slow-release oral minoxidil and Pelage making similar investment gains as they head into Phase 3, Amplifica is the only company left that should be getting a similar opportunity. Theyโre working in a space thatโs fundamentally regenerative, not just stimulatory, and that puts them in a different category entirely.
Honestly, Iโd rather find out that a twice-a-year injection can restore hair than rely on daily topical or oral maintenance forever.
Iโm especially curious how Amplifica plans to run a formal clinical program with AMP-303 and their other AMP derivatives because if their early data holds up in controlled trials, it could be disruptive.
