Hunting, the Outdoors and Family are a large part of what makes the Hardup Huas.
The term "Hardup" is an idiom for not having enough of something important or valuable or poorly provided for.
This statement was adopted from childhood years where the term was used to describe those of us who were perceived to be living below a poverty line.
"Hua" is a Maori insult that has a translation with a bark worse than their common use bite and not to be taken literally.
As children we would often be called "little huas" (little shits) whenever we did something wrong...which was probably quite often and the title sort of stuck.
