Iām currently working on the review of the Kino UHD and Paramount 4K master of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. Plus a video release history.
Needless to say the goofs are in full effect as this release is facepalm inducing to the extreme.

For some strange reason my preservation of the 1986 Criterion Laserdisc audio commentary for INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is flagged for copyright even though its a non-monetized audio only video for a never reissued nearly 40 year old Laserdisc analog track! I've uploaded it to Vimeo if you'd like to hear this classic commentary and don't own a working Laserdisc player: vimeo.com/1011511309

āŖ@chris_stokesā¬ is doing an excellent James Bond fan video revisit and run through of every Bond adaptation in chronological order. This is some of the best 007 material Iāve found on YouTube in some time. I stumbled across it as I wondered if anyone had made a video on the 1950ās Moonraker lost radio drama.

Michael Bartlettās āā āŖ@michaelbartlettfilmā¬ YouTube channel has some of the most thought provoking and intelligent discussion of films and film analysis that Iāve seen on this platform on a LONG time. His videos generate an actual discourse with the viewer as film critics should. These are the kinds of videos we need more of and what YouTube was made for. youtube.com/@michaelbartlettfilm?si=ydqVaQbIIfFetzā¦

When you finish editing your 2 hour plus book analysis video and just need to add some more images for certain sectionsā¦and you find that thereās another tiny little text change that you never knew about before because itās only half of a line of dialogue that was removed in the 1955 American text and youāve got to now go back and at least insert a text slide with a photo of the difference and adjust all your time stampsā¦

Me: Iāll go and look at the Turner preview cut on the DVD of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid and 2005 Seydor cut again plus the extras and commentaries since theyāre exclusive to this setā¦And I find both discs have rotted since I last checked my whole collection.š¤¦š»āāļøš¤¬ This is now the third film of four to have gone bad in my copy of the Sam Peckinpah Legendary Westerns Collection DVD boxset. And this is the DVD release where everything within is exclusive and thus extremely important. Now I have to look for a used copy and hope it doesnāt have rot on either disc. āā @warnerbrosclassics āā @WarnerBrosPictures āā @warnerbrosentertainment

This is sublime. It is not only hysterical and spot on in its reading of our collective disillusionment with the film industry but also underlines how the classic cartoons have more logic and zest for life than any studio leadership does.
None of these are new problems as they merely are the evolution of issues that truly began with the collapse of the studio system and corporate takeovers.

Premiering tonight: my review of āŖ@Eurekaentertainmentā¬ Blu-ray of THE CAT AND THE CANARY. This is one of the finest Blu-rays ever made and a leading candidate for Disc of the Year. A must own release in every way and the ultimate respect has been given to this timeless silent landmark.

My home here on Youtube for film nerd videos, disc transfer obsessiveness, Laserdisc and other video formats, James Bond obsessiveness and my life pursuits that I just can't expound upon elsewhere.
