Last weekend my gf and I went to a concert in Toronto for the long weekend. I took the week off from filming/editing and just focused on enjoying life. We had a blast! Smashing Pumpkins was absolutely amazing.

This week I was going to film, but oh how plans change...

The back of the shop flooded after we had a big rain storm due to the eavestrough downspout clogging with those maple keys from my neighbor's tree.

We had our friends from Legendary Home Improvements come over and install some gutter guards, but unfortunately the problem wasn't completely solved.

Either the garage is sinking or the ground is rising because we had some patio stones at the back of the shop that ended up being higher than the foundation. So that's another reason why water was getting in and running along the wall. Everything on the floor was soaked.

So one of the projects has been to move the slabs and start digging. We'll be laying a weeping tile along the back of the garage and also rerouting the eavestrough downspouts, as well as installing another one to help control drainage and mitigate flooding.

On top of all that, our shower started leaking so we're in the process of getting that renovated as well!

This week has been a bit hectic, and in the 6 (going on 7) years that I've been doing YouTube, I've never not uploaded 2 weeks in a row!

This will be my 1st because here we are. I figured I'd at least post a little update so you all knew what was going on and that I'm ok.

I'm sure next weekend things will be back to normal, stay tuned and stay hydrated!

Little shop project today, organizing my belts and using 6" screws so I can stack belts that are within the same inch (97"/97½"/97¾" etc..) on the same screw. The yellow paint is a good little trick to mark the depth. Used 2 average size belts to set my width, and staggered the screws up and down so they had a bit of offset. Shout-out to my friends Kyle and ‪@isaacgrist1023‬ for the screws, had just enough! No video tonight, see y'all next week 😎

Just wanted to post a quick channel update; You've probably noticed I haven't been uploading as much as usual. We've been so busy lately that I just can't keep up with the regular video per week schedule. This year is the busiest we've ever been, and April was likely the best month we've ever had. Once the hot weather comes and we slow down a bit, things will go back to normal! I have some really cool videos planned, some awesome products to review, as well as some unique equipment to show off. Stay tuned!

New control valve came in for that log splitter we modified 2 weeks ago to get my customer up and running so he could heat his home with wood. He's back up and running once again with auto kickback and forward return.

‪@THEMOWERMEDIC1‬ you ever see a Nylock bolt like this before? These came out of an old Craftsman snowblower, they were used as set screws on the impeller pulley. There's a groove cut in them with some nylon, even the wire wheel wouldn't remove it. Old school lock bolt!

Sometimes I think about filming a video, but I quickly scan other small engine repair YouTube channels to see if anyone else recently posted a video on the same topic/repair. In this case, a MTD snow blower belt cover upgrade. The old plastic covers act as belt keepers, and they wear. MTD now sells an upgraded cover with a metal strap inside. ‪@donyboy73‬ just posted a video on this exact topic, check the video out here: https://youtu.be/08je3bzlgOc

It's a small world, but it feels even smaller when I get an old riding lawn mower into the shop for scrap, and while disassembling it, I find a sticker from my Great Grandfather's shop (Stallwoods Equipment in Fonthill). Safe to say I'm following in the old man's footsteps. He owned and operated a Massey Ferguson dealer, as well as serviced small engines and tractors of all makes and models. How's that for a #ThrowbackThursday

Stay tuned for an upcoming video on #NutWax from waximillion.com/ they were kind enough to send some over and it's awesome! FYI; It's a sticky wax that helps keep nuts/screws into position when you're trying to tighten things up in hard to reach places.
