This keeps happening! Help me stop it!!
Some of you may have noticed that my camera occasionally decides to focus on my hands (yes, I use them a lot when I talk) instead of my face. That's because I use my photography camera (Sony A7R3) for all of my filming and it struggles as a video camera.
That's why I set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to by a dedicated video camera for all my work on the channel here. Many of you have already donated and I am deeply grateful for your support! Hello audiophiles and music lovers!
I have decided to seek some assistance from the community for an upgrade of camera gear that I just can't seem to squeeze into the channel's budget at the moment.
For many years now, I have been filming on a Sony A7R Mk3 camera which is a photography-first camera, not a video camera. It has a few major issues as a video camera:
1) It lacks a fold-out screen so I can't see what's going on without adding an external display
2) When you add an external display, the camera loses key autofocus functionality that means it often focuses on the wrong things!
3) It's big which makes it less ideal for getting 'action shots' of me interacting with gear, walking around HiFi shows, etc.
So, I am trying to upgrade to the Sony ZV-E1 camera and the Sony ECM-M1 microphone for those times that I am out and about, producing content from a location where I don't have my normal studio mic available. In short, I am looking to upgrade the range of content and the quality of content I can produce for you and I'd love your help because it would take about 3 months to save up for this camera assuming I had no other expenses, but I do already have expenses to keep the channel running so, in reality, it would be more like 6-months away and I am keen to upgrade things sooner if you'll assist.

If you'd gone to buy Ray Tubes KT88 Selects from my store, you probably thought I'd lost the plot (and maybe I had).
