If you are reading this right now in bed and you: can't sleep, live alone or feel alone, are having distressing thoughts about anything....I want you to know that everything is ok. Take ten deep breaths right now (in through your nose, out through mouth) to slow your heart rate and calm your nervous system. If your heart is still racing, splash some cold water on your face for 15-30 seconds. This is a scientifically proven way to stimulate the vagus nerve & send a message to your body that it is time to relax (also called the mammalian diving reflex). Any weird, uncomfortable, or frightening feelings that you are currently experiencing in your body or mind are most likely perfectly human AND normal! If you have a favorite blanket, bring it into your bed and wrap yourself tightly or hold it for comfort. Reading a book is also a great way to shift your attention from hyper-focusing on the scary/negative things that keep us up at night. If you are hungry, make yourself a bedtime snack. You should never feel guilty for nourishing your body at any time of day/night. A banana with peanut butter might even help you sleep better (the tryptophan in nuts releases serotonin!). Remember - Everything is going to be okay like we talked about. These are challenging times for us all but we are going to get through them. I'm glad you exist.❤️

It's 9:36 PM in Los Angeles. It is not uncommon for me to feel anxious or unsettled at night, but at this moment in time, I feel completely happy and content. It has occurred to me that I should share more moments like this. The truth is I feel them often but don't usually take the time to articulate what I am feeling. Tonight is not overwhelmingly different or unique from many other nights but as I observe my immediate environment, I feel an immense sense of peace and tranquility. On other nights when I am anxious and fearful, I sometimes imagine diving into a pool of water that is warm and safe. I picture the water hugging my body and when I am submerged, all sounds from the outside become muted until I am securely floating in a quiet space below the surface. At the present time, my body and brain are both relaxed in the same way. The feeling is so nice that I wish I could prolong it forever but will instead savor the moment. I am reflecting on my day, which was also not particularly unique, but filled with contentment and great pleasure. Another day spent living that I have not taken for granted. The day and night have left me feeling full of vitality and great appreciation. I am drinking my tea, showered and clean, in comfortable clothes, preparing to watch a movie. Another day on Earth and feeling so grateful for life. I am not taking the time to proofread this and am sure it is full of errors but hope that is resonates for at least one person. ❤️

In the last 24 hours, YouTube has been automatically deleting A LOT of comments on my most recent upload, including my own responses. It is likely happening on other videos as well. I reached out to YouTube to report this and was informed that their system was recently updated with more secure measures to protect against spam/spam comments. For whatever reason, it is affecting many non-spam comments as well. Not sure if other creators are experiencing this but it has been incredibly frustrating. What you guys have to say is really important & valid to me and I hate to think that anyone's thoughts and words can just be erased this way. Please know that I am not deleting your comments and I am waiting for a resolution from Youtube. This is definitely one of the downfalls of a platform that relies heavily on artificial intelligence. 🥵
