#SeptemberToRemember As you savor the sights, sounds, and stories from this past summer, remember that none of this could have been possible without the nearly $300,000 in overall tuition assistance—including 23 full scholarships—we awarded to our students. Each and every dollar you contribute - which now will go twice as far, thanks to a generous match from the Gary & Pennie Abramson Foundation - is a vital investment in the future of this timeless music! watch video on watch page

In honor of International Women's Day, we share this performance of Fanny Mendelssohn's Trio in D minor, Op. 11, by Heifetz Ensemble in Residence violinist Yezu Woo, cellist Noémie Raymond-Friset and pianist Michel-Alexandre Broekaert from a 2022 concert entitled "Mystics, Muses, and Mothers." The vast majority of the the 400+ compositions she penned went unpublished during her lifetime because of the social norms around female composers of the time. A number of her works were published under the name of her younger brother Felix, and research in recent decades have uncovered additional works that were incorrectly credited. Music historian Richard Taruskin suggests that "the life of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel is compelling proof that women's failure to "compete" with men on the compositional playing-field has been the result of social prejudice and patriarchal mores..." Luckily for today's music community there has been an increased interest in the catalogue of this brilliant and prolific composer. watch video on watch page
