The fall-out behind the truth behind Amina (A Gay Girl in Damascus blog) hit her long-distance girlfriend, Sandra, harder than others. Here she is, pictured with Gay Girl Gone host Samira Mohyeddin (right).

"It's one thing to actually create a persona of an American Syrian lesbian pretending to be in Syria, and there's also the other part of, like, pretending to be in a relationship and writing as
a woman, you know? It's so wrong on so many aspects," said Sandra.

Today, Sandra has moved on with a family of her own in Barcelona.

Looking back on her experiences, Sandra says she doesn't regret it.

"This is how we learn," she said. " never did blame myself for anything, because it was like out of care, out of, protection, out of, security, out of all this, beliefs, which are very good feelings.
