Regarding GGG's latest message about POE 1 & 2.....legit this was what many of us said 5+ years ago when POE 2 was announced. Thank you for this message. I hope others in the community can recognize that the best days of POE 1 are well behind us. As a company, you fell for a classic blunder of resource allocation. Once a new production line begins using workforce to produce, it is almost impossible to ever remove those workers to another older project. I'm very glad and thankful for all the hours of POE 1 fun I've had over the years and I'm glad for the support I've given and encouraged others to give. I wish all the POE 2 development team and players a wonderful experience for the future.

Hot take about POE 2 - If it was named anything other than "POE" a whole bunch of players would play for a weekend or two, then drop it, and be clamoring to GGG about when their next league would be coming.

I loved settlers league. Legit the most PoE I've played since Heist.
I've been worried since PoE 2 was announced as a separate game that there would be delays, and the game I've grown to love, learn about, and share with others (PoE 1) would be compromised due to all the logistics of PoE 2.
I've been ranting about it for years, and we've seen it bit by bit, with little pieces, snippets, changes of direction, confusing balance ideas, reworks, then silence, tired tropes mixed in with some absolutely banging content for PoE 1.
I've been trying to find time to put out a summary video of my settlers experience because it has been amazing, and it genuinely got me excited for the future of PoE 1 again. I bought a supporter pack again for the first time in a few years and was ready for PoE 1 team to be fully dedicated on PoE 1 and let the PoE 2 crowd go and enjoy their (hopefully) shiny new toy.
The announcements this week have been transparent, but late admitting of what many of us have said from the PoE 2 announcement more than 5 years ago. PoE 1 has suffered a lot, both from a global pandemic, and from a lot of various decisions relating to PoE 2.
I was just getting stoked to be all hyped, share some enthusiasm for the future of PoE 1 (if it was going to be more leagues like settlers)....and the news this week has been a punch in the stomach of excitement. It's always been a bit of a compromised relationship with GGG, but often communication and out of this world 3 month gameplay and content delivery cycles made up for whatever was lacking.
I'm pretty sure that this week's news about the delay for 3.26 until 2025 solidifies whatever fears, dreads, or concerns that those of us who love PoE 1 have. For the year of 2024 PoE 1 will have had 2 leagues, 1 was great (Settlers), the other pretty mediocre (Necro) We won't know much about 3.26 until the new year.
I'm just bummed. But that's a part of life. It's OK to be bummed. It's even OK to be angry about things going a way we don't like or want to support. It's not OK to take that anger out on other people. So I'm not going to rant, or make a reaction video this week. Maybe I will when I'm calmer or we have more news. I'm just going to say simply I'm upset, disappointed, but not altogether surprised by PoE 2 having such a burdensome impact on PoE 1.
I am mad, and I am disappointed. I wanted to be wrong about all the worries I've shared over the last 5 years. But here we are. Wish I had been wrong. Here is hoping whenever 3.26 does come out, it's epic, and I genuinely hope the people working on PoE 1 and 2 enjoy their work and are able to take satisfaction in their craft.

How was your weekend of gaming? I've now played 11 different builds on 7 different characters in 2 different leagues (SC/HC). Thoroughly enjoying Settlers.

Tomorrow is my 88th birthday! I'm thinking of celebrating with a stream of POE with my 9 year old boy. He wants to play a flicker strike build after watching me play it on Berzerker. He's played a few characters before, making it as far as Act 2. Any tips for him tomorrow?
