I'm an environmentalist and biocentrist. Basically I believe the needs of the human species are in no way more important to the needs of other life on this planet. I would go as far to say that given the manner in which our species operates that we are in fact less important than most other species. This is because the human species acts more like a cancer on this planet rather than an ecologically balanced species. We unnaturally push the limits of the biosphere in order to obtain short term gains at the expense of most other life forms. We knowingly live in a state of population overshoot with no intention of resolving our desire for unlimited growth on a planet of limited resources. My only purpose of existence as a member of this species is to try to help as many non human individuals as I can who are negatively affected by our presence in this world. In the end everything dies, this is our legacy.
