The new Tips & Tricks episode will be here on September 23❗

Unclipping quickdraws is one of the fundamental skills in rock climbing ✊ Unclipping can be challenging if you’re not lucky enough to have pre-placed quickdraws on the route and the climb is overhanging. In an upcoming episode, we will show you how to make the job easier with the right technique and how to clean the route safely ☝

‪@Olympics‬ in Paris 🇲🇫
6th place.
So many emotions in my head still going on. It had been MASSIVE. What an event and what a success for our sport. I poured my heart into the preparation, I don't think I have ever been so focused in my life like in the last months before this event ✊ I don't think I have ever been better prepared than this time. And I delivered a performance I can be happy about. It is bittersweet since it was not enough for that medal that I was dreaming about and that I wanted really badly ☝

I would love to congratulate all the participants at the olympics, in both disciplines and both sexes. It is a BIG thing just to make it to the Olympics. Every sport event creates just one winner, and just three medalists and many "losers" which is merciless nature of sport. I feel like the Olympic Games are even tougher as the competition itself feels so important to every single participant, and that "loss" has an even more bitter taste than any other competition. In our sport, where many of my generation did not really have a chance to compete at the Olympics during our late teens or early 20s, it feels even more bitter.

Obviously, it is also time to congratulate ⭐ winners (Toby Roberts, Janja Garnbret, Alexandra Miroslaw and Leonardo Vedriq) and medalists Anraku Sorato, Jakob Schubert, Brooke Raboutou, Jessica Pilz, Wu Peng, Sam Watson, Deng Lijuan and Alexandra Kalucka.

I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me, who cheered for me, who sent me positive vibes ✌ It feels awesome. And everyone who sent me nice messages or comments before or after the event. There are many people I would to thank more specifically, but I would like to do it in the following post. For now, the first one is my family: my wife, Iva and our son, Hugo ✨ I would never set off on this path without you and your support, If you did not stand by me. And my parents, who introduced me to this sport and were there at the spot to cheer for me.

For now, let's have some rest and touch some non-plastic holds for a while ⚡

In my opinion, up to difficulty 7a, you should primarily climb a large volume of routes to get the technique and proper climbing movement into your body ✊ Even though you are climbing a large volume, the routes should always be challenging. However, if you want to advance both in strength and technique, you can’t avoid projecting routes. Start by climbing harder things first, but within a few attempts, let's say over two to three days. This way of climbing will help you improve in different aspects than before, and at the same time, it will give you more insight into your weaknesses and what you need to focus on during training ☝

It always depends on your personality, whether you enjoy making progress in small steps and handling long-term failure or prefer climbing many routes quickly. The most important thing is that you enjoy climbing ✌

One of my favorite things about climbing is definitely heel hooking⚡ I would say that nowadays, heel hooking for modern bouldering and lead climbing is almost quintessential. It can be helpful literally everywhere. In modern gyms, on steeper terrain, or even during old-school flat-face climbing. And I am talking about the second most basic climbing technique when it comes to footwork that you can improve really quickly ✌

This spring, there were a couple of rainy days in Southern France, so I visited this sector named Deverse at Gorges du Loupon crag on a particularly awful rainy day. But I was able to climb these impossible moves and make an ascent of Inga, 8c+/9a ✊

Enjoy some fantastic photos by Petr Chodura from this amazing crag. Watch the new video on my YouTube channel ⏩ https://youtu.be/YbkExGGB4TI and check out the whole climb with my commentary in my YouTube membership section ⏩ https://youtu.be/_sJLuf6tTK8.

You can also get a cool poster from the Tango To Nik 8c+ route right under the waterfall (which wasn't supposed to be there originally 😄 ) eshop.adamondra.com/.
