What or who inspired me to start making roti? A couple of months ago I stumbled across a video on the Street Food Journey channel from Jan 2023, that showed Puy Roti Lady about to lose the spot where she sold her roti from because of increased rents. I really wanted to know what happened afterwards. I saw that in March 2023 she had started her own channel so I took a look. Generous donations from followers of Street Food Journey and from her own channel enabled her to rent another spot.
She starts work at 6.00am to make the dough which has to be done every day because it doesn't keep. She opens her tiny food stall cart at 4.00pm and doesn't close until 10.00pm. After that she holds a concert for her viewers which can last for up to two and sometimes three hours!
She has had to leave her children in her home province in Sisaket, where her mother looks after them, because Bangkok is where the work is. At the moment her father is with her in Bangok because he is unwell and the best doctors are there.
From humble beginnings she now has 670,000 subscribers on her very successful YouTube channel.

Made some lemon curd and jam tarts today. I think the lemon curd tarts turned out very nicely. Better than the ones in my 'How to Make' video. 😁

Yesterday was bad, bad, bad! My roti was rotten. I dropped my bag of oven chips (fries) on the floor and when I went to pick the bag up they all fell out onto the floor. Then when I opened a packet of crackers for supper lots were broken into little pieces. 😭😭😭😭 I'm lucky I managed to get out of the day without breaking a leg or something. 🚑🦵
