The detour that went downhill!
Toll Plazas and my bank cards had not yet become friends, refused to transact with each other. Well, the only choice till I figured a solution was to switch my map settings to “Avoid Tolls.” Least realizing I had made an ‘expensive mistake’. A few minutes onto this new path, the roads kept getting narrower and the tarmac kept diminishing. I sensed trouble, but by then I was too deep into the situation. The road suddenly disappeared, and I stared at a slushy road and by the time I could react, it was too late. The bike, my better half and I, were all down. There was just one amused spectator looking at us in bewilderment. The floor was fudge and we both struggled to get ourselves up... badly , very badly shaken and struggling to lift the fully loaded bike but to no avail. We requested the lone man standing to come by and as he came, I realized he was a very huge man. He effortlessly walked up and helped upright the bike and helped push the bike off the fudge back to a part that resembled tarmac. A rough start to the journey :( Later we switched back to Toll Roads and got cash off an ATM, during which time my wife refreshed herself. She has taken quite a fall; mental notes were made. I know its going to cost me later, but for now a sincere apology did the trick.

The Good Samaritan saves the day!
Even in today’s day and age, sometimes good old things work best! Here is an example, my bank cards decided to somehow not work on international soil. The first toll and the first hurdle... had me struggling for cash... none of my cards worked and fortunately I was lucky to have good Samaritan help me out in time. An Audi Convertible behind me offered to pay the toll and by the time I could turn back and thank him, he was off!! #TipOfTheDay
