Glass age.... Lots of glass...
Last night at 03.30am we were VERY luckey - a 1 ton warheaded Iranian missile (ICBM) missed us by a tiny itsy bitsy fraction of an angle. The two adjacent houses were demolised and neighbours were injured. My prayers to the rapid recovery to the injured. We just lost windows, doors, pergola and so on. The building is still standing.
The cats were not in the bomb shelter but they are fine, although scared half to death ("before trauma" pics for the cats)
p.s the top and bottom shops are OK!

A new turbo fed gas burner (butane). The old one gets to 840-870c which is great for forging, but not for forge welding.
This one crashed my pyrometerat above 1000c. I do think I managed to forge weld tool steel to mild steel...

New air fed forge burner being tested.
Goal: reach 1100-1300c fir forge welding
Current status: 870-890c - ideal for blacksmithing
Difference: venturi vs air fed (turbo)
Pvc tube connector: incase I forget to disconnect the blower - the pvc will melt before the turbo air feed ...
Results: pending further tests... So far it's very impressive :)

Wecome! This channel is about precision machining parts by and for (and to the extent of) my Unimat SL1000 lathe.
I have and will be fabricating parts the Unimat manufacturer skipped like a compound rest and external drive as well as steady rest and other unimat tools. This channel was established to help other people that own a Unimat SL 100 or DB 200, or any other small lathe.
Hope you enjoy this
