Stories are the backbone of who we are, where we have been and the core of our souls. My contemporary native wearable art jewelry tells the stories of my people, the places and the spirit they personified. Personal adornment is not merely accessorizing. It's a connection, a provoked feeling, a historical leap and a transporter of being. The phrase, MitĂĄkuye OyĂĄsâiĹ is a world view concept which means âwe are all relatedâ or âall my relationsâ. It is a prayer of oneness and harmony with all forms of life: other people, animals, birds, insects, trees and plants and even rocks, rivers, mountains and deserts. I strive to bring that oneness into each object I create. My jewelry is a narrative conceptual sculpture that is both architectural, organic and talismanic. I strive to also share the energy of education with those that want to tie their gifts to their voice with their work. So teaching is as valuable as creating to my life's work.
