Evening all! Hope you’re well- a quick post in response to a question that has come up a couple of times:
“What was the amp/pedal settings for The Beatles ‘Now And Then’ slide video?”
Nothing out of the ordinary as you can see in the pic below.
Amp was an AC15, clean but loud 😱
Pedal chain- light drive/push from the hot cake (the best OD ever made-fact) into the line 6 echo park (1/4 note tap roughly in time with the song), into the carbon copy (short, barely noticeable in context, delay mainly for the mod section on the pedal) and finally into the holy grail on the “grail spring” setting.
Once recorded I compressed tastefully but I find you don’t need to be shy with slide guitar- smash it a bit to bring out the detail. Nice to play slide with some amount of compression I find....I also added a vibrato pedal in the box for some extra mod, as well as a plate reverb for further lushness.
Basically- OD ➡️ delay ➡️ reverb will get you most of the way there as ever.
