The quickest way to improve your #breathing :

Pick ANY breathing exercise that moderately challenges your breath & practice it first thing in the morning until it gets easy. Then change.

ps: if in 3 weeks the exercise has not become easy, you can start questioning other lifestyle habits that are sabotaging your health.

ps2: the chances of more than 1 out of 1,000 people that will read this to start a breathing exercise tomorrow morning is <0.00001. Yet ~40% snore, ~70% wake up tired, ~90% cannot run a mile without running out of breath 🤷🏻‍♂️.

✋🏻Stop running after breathing exercises that activate your Vagus Nerve. They may be easy, but their effect will be small in comparison to breathing exercises that “train” your nervous system to be resilient.

🫵🏻 Old way of thinking: digestive enzyme for a sluggish gut. vs New way of thinking: probiotics to get rid of food intolerances. (In case you are looking for a parallelism)

Panic Disorders can develop for many reasons including poor diet and exercise habits. Breathing patterns are equally important - NOT just in combatting panic episodes - but also in avoiding their occurrence at first place.A recent review study tried to identify which breathing style can help patients suffering from panic attacks, handle stress best. One concept a lot of people struggle with when it comes to breathwork is the following:“We cannot improve our breathing capacity unless we put in some effort in training it. A lot of breathing techniques require no effort and no surprisingly have no effect on our ability to breathe.”As a clinician I see clients’ breathing pattern and symptoms change within weeks. It’s because they do some work.What is your favourite breathing technique?

Obstructive Sleep Apnea puts a huge burden in your health.

How many times a night do you wake up?

Do you wake up fresh?

Have you considered the link between the way you breathe & the quality of your sleep?

Obstructive Sleep Apnea
is often undiagnosed due to the difficulty of self monitoring the events of awakeness during the night. Symptoms include:
* snoring
* waking up tired or with a dry mouth
* sleepiness during the day
.
Given the strong evidence linking OSA to CV disease, Type 2 Diabetes & Cancer it should be no surprising to hear how a lot of OSA markers overlap with accelerated aging.
.
Based on my clinical experience, a lot of individuals THINK THEY SLEEP WELL & only when they do a home sleep study they realise the severity of the problem.
.
Having helped a couple of people get rid of the cpap machine I suggest patients follow a multidisciplinary approach and not just breathing exercises.
