hi everyone, i hope you're all doing okay!
we're still dealing with some stuff at home, so there isn't a video again this week.
i've actually been thinking about taking a small break, but i think a better way to do it would just be to say that uploads will be unscheduled for a while- just as and when i feel able/inspired. i hope you don't mind too much.
this will allow me to process/help with the stuff going on at home, but also to focus on wrapping up some illustration projects that i've been working on behind the scenes, so i can start planning what i want to make for halloween π
i hope you don't mind too much, and appreciate your patience. sincerest apologies to those who depend on the routine- i just don't feel like i'm managing/balancing things very well at the moment, which isn't a headspace i want to make videos in. that being said, there should hopefully be a video next week, so if everything goes according to plan, i'll see you then π«‘
in the meantime i'll still be updating weekly on patreon, and once everyday gloom is finished, i'll be uploading more regularly to the blog section of my website too π₯οΈ

hello! just a quick note to say that there probably won't be a video this week- have been trying to film it today but nothing's working out quite right π΅βπ« weird weather, printers playing up, dog antagonised by existence, etc. i'll try and squeeze two in next week when i get back from travelling!

like many, i've been growing a little disillusioned with social media (twitter and ig specifically, but also algorithms, ads, sponsored content, paywalls, etc) and thought it might be nice to have somewhere quieter and slower to post, somewhere a little more intentional. at the moment it has a long post about commonplacing, and a compilation post of my favourite moody/gloomy films and tv shows. as my small following continues to grow here, i'm keen to try and make sure those unable to support me on patreon (for whatever reason) have somewhere cool to hang out if they want it. i'll use it as a space to write posts about my interests, share photos from my camera, link the articles and essays i've been reading, and anything else cool that i want to share. nothing is changing anywhere else, it's just another little creative outlet for a chronic collector π«‘
i'll add an faq over there to, so i can link people back to it if they have questions- at the moment it's in the sidebar on the righthand side of the page.
let me know if you like it! you should be able to add comments under the posts if you want to. this afternoon i'll be trying to work out how to best lay out photos posts π· so there might be more to look at later on.

i just finished editing the mini photo-printer comparison/test video, and itβs around an hour long. itβs very organic- i set everything up in real time and print comparison photos and share thoughts for each.
im aware that an hour is very long however! π₯΄ would you like the long video or would you prefer i try and film something shorter tomorrow? lmk ππ»ββοΈπ€ thank u

a bit of a weird question for you this morning- would anyone be interested if i reviewed some mini photo printers? and if yes, which ones would you like to see? been thinking about potentially buying one for travelling but the reviews for them all are a little chaotic (amazing vs ruined my life) π thinking it might maybe be worth investigating for myself π
