i love how thereβs such a contrast between nuggets (the chicks) and the tenders (the adult hens). i walked out and kneeled in the doorframe staring at them because theyβre funny to watch, and the tenders just stared at me with a dead yet gluttonous gaze, and letting out the occasional yelp in protest of me not providing them food as soon as i come into existence, while the nuggets in their walled off section were flailing as if the run was on fire, a couple jumped onto anotherβs head, they were screaming about as loud as a jet engine, and i swear it seemed as if some eldritch being from a piece of literature created by h p lovecraft had awoken from its long, deep slumber, to then rain fire upon the land until nothing but ash remained. all of this occurred before they had even realized it was there.
