Also tried out the tapered sliding dovetail for the first time on my next project! What an emotional roller coaster that was!
(make fun of my faux suede Crocs all you want, they're still awesome in my eyes)
Stay tuned on what this project will be.

Just launched The Joint Academy video course and I’m super excited about how it turned out.
See here: scottwalsh.co/products/joint-academy
7.5 hours of content covering 12 essential joints - this thing was incredibly time consuming to produce, but the result is something I’m really proud of.
Here’s what makes it different: the entire course works with tools you probably already have - table saw, router table, plunge router. No need for expensive specialty tools like a $1000 Festool Domino.
More importantly, unlike YouTube content (mine included), I didn’t edit out details for algorithm reasons. You get complete, unfiltered instruction with all the nuances that usually get cut but actually matter for success. Each joint includes multiple methods too, so you’re never stuck if your setup has limitations.
I really don’t think anything like this exists out there. I looked everywhere before deciding to make it myself.
This was hands down the hardest project I’ve tackled, but seeing the final product makes every late night worth it. There’s something satisfying about creating exactly what I wished existed when I was learning this stuff.
Launching 30% off through Labour Day - seemed like the right way to get it into people’s hands.
No pressure though, just wanted to share what I’ve been working on.
I also have a free ebook on joinery if you want to see a little taste of what it's all about: scottwalsh.co/pages/joinery-guide-sign-up

I just finished writing my *FREE E-Book* on Joinery!
Get it here: scottwalsh.co/pages/joinery-guide-sign-up
This turned out way longer than originally intended: It's 46 pages of jam-packed info and illustrations.
It's not as much of a "how-to make" as it is a how-to thoughtfully select the right joint for the situation at hand.
See you there.

I'm super excited that I finished my first ever video course!
scottwalsh.co/products/the-evergreen-workbench
It was a butt-load of work and I'm technically not done yet because I still have to edit the accompanying YouTube video, but I'm in Christmas mode right now, so... yeah.
I'd love it if you took the time to check out the page on the course, and let me know what you think! And speaking of Christmas mode, there's a fun little surprise* if you add it to your cart.
See you there,
Scott

New vid is almost done, and this one is a doozy. Hopefully will be released this weekend.
There won't be a Vmail this weekend or likely for the month of August, but I'll be back with those in full force in September.

Want to see a sneak preview for my next vid? Do you also hate sanding? Check this out:
scottwalsh.co/pages/thumbnail-profile-vmail-sign-u…
In this week's Vmail: I show you how to go from a rough cut thumbnail profile off the router table, to a finish ready edge for fine furniture. This is not something to skimp on - finish prep is absolutely key for a professional result. But it doesn't involve as much sanding as you might think.
See you there,
Scott
