Hello! I’ve gotten a lot of requests to do a video on Billy Porter/Cabaret and I was considering covering it this week. But also I think TikTok at this point is just pushing the discourse as an excuse to freely hate on a black performer outside of reasonable bounds of critique and I do not want to contribute to that sentiment bc tbh it’s gross.
For that reason I do not feel comfortable doing a full video myself without other perspectives present. So if there are any black creators in the theater space or black subscribers of mine who are into theater and want to be featured, I would be open to it. Dm me or reply here!
This would be similar to other videos I’ve done where I ask you questions on cam to include your perspective. Also like if this is just a topic I should not touch at this point as a non black person I am also open to that perspective bc like. it’s getting weird out here. Not every creator needs to talk about everything and tbh more creators need to hear that lol but I do think there’s value in responsible coverage on the subject ESPECIALLY bc tiktok is a cesspool rn
