For this week's video would rather see:
A video creating longer vocabulary out of that first phrase of The Snapper that we learned in last week's video (with an emphasis on doodling and articulation, of course!)
OR
Learning another tune of Clark's together in real time (with an emphasis on singing, articulation, and doodling)
Let me know! I'm going to make something tomorrow and I want to tailor it to what you all need!!

When Motivation Fades, Go Back to the Records
Whenever I feel frustrated, unmotivated, or just plain stuck, there’s one thing that always brings me back to center: the records.
Not method books. Not practice routines. Not discipline.
The records.
There are a few albums that, no matter what’s going on in my life or my playing, make me feel like the coolest person in the world. Just having them in the house feels like having a secret superpower. Putting them on instantly reconnects me with why I started playing jazz in the first place.
I’m guessing you have those records too—the ones that lit the fire. The ones that made this music feel like magic. Keep them close. Listen often. Let them remind you of who you are and who you’re becoming.
If you ever lose your drive to practice or feel overwhelmed by how far you still have to go, come back to the records. They’ll remind you why you started. And that’s usually all it takes to start again.

17,000 subscribers! Wild. Thank you 🙏
Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate you being here.
Seriously — thank you for being part of my little corner of the jazz world. Whether you've been around since day one or just found the channel last week, I’m glad we get to hang out here.
To celebrate hitting 17k subscribers, I’m putting together a Q&A video.
If you’ve got questions about your jazz playing, your practice routine, mindset stuff, time feel, theory confusion — anything at all — drop it in the comments below. I’ll answer as many as I can in the video.
No question too big or small. If it’s on your mind, it’s worth asking.
Thanks again for being here. More soon.

Thinking about starting a second channel dedicated to saxophone related things. I have so many people that don’t play saxophone here and I want to keep creating content for all but……. I also have the itch to make some stuff about my favorite instrument 😁
Who’d be into it? Would you subscribe??
