I've gotten a lot of questions and concerns about AI and the future of 3D, and art in general.
Am I optimistic? To be honest - No. We're living in a world where 80-95% of artists jobs could be wiped out overnight by new tech that is improving by leaps and bounds day by day. A world where the low hanging fruit of the art world is already quietly being scooped up by big tech. A world that is being subliminally and subconsciously trained to value artists less and less day by day. Things are not good, to say the least.
I think creators with platforms need to be more realistic about this, because it IS happening, and sugar coating it and saying you're optimistic is not helping. If we want a change, we need to get mad. We need to stand up for ourselves and say this is not okay, Because this world IS coming if we let it. It's becoming more and more clear to me that a world of AI "empowering artists, not replacing them" was a lie sold to us by billion dollar corporations to allow us to let them sink their roots deep into our communities before we noticed it was too late.
So, what about the future of this platform?
I've also felt really discouraged lately and my seemingly random videos this past year (or complete lack of them) have been reflecting that. This world is changing and evolving quickly and it's been a challenge constantly adjusting to that. If people are becoming discouraged to be artists, what does that mean for the future of this platform, which is sustained off courses and educating new artists? Do we pivot to hobbyists? Or something new entirely? I'm not sure yet. I've always dreamed of being able to make enough money to help fund 100% human-made creative projects. I don't know how that would work, but I think I'm in a position where I can start building towards something like that. My personal financial problems and worries are small in the grand scheme of what is happening in today's age, but like all artists and creatives, I want to figure out a way to survive this new world.
But one thing is for sure - I firmly believe that a world with less artists in it is a monumentally bad thing. I've always seen Stylized Station as a safe space and a place to celebrate incredible art made by humans, so instead of shying away and just "accepting the future" as a lot of new, emboldened tech bros like to say, I think this new uncertain future has only galvanized my vision of what ive wanted the platform to be. I think it's time to really lock in and fight for what I want this world to become, even if Stylized Station becomes one of the final bastions of human art. I think that's worth fighting for.
For young artists who are worried, things are going to change, but there will ALWAYS be people who want to support art made by humans. That's all I can say about that.
I'm going to take some more time to ponder on this situation, but this year's unfolding events have definitely given me the clarity, direction and purpose that I've desperately sought for since starting this amazing platform/community. Sorry for the rant.
Signed,
A pissed off human being

You may have noticed that the last few videos on this channel have shifted in content.
Over the years, this channel has been through a lot.
Iâve made 3D tutorials, brought on artists, broken down video game tech, talked about the business of art, designed anime-inspired stuff, and more. And if you've been here for any stretch of that journey, thank you.
But hereâs the truth: I donât enjoy making the same kind of content I used to. Not because it wasnât good. But because it doesnât feel aligned with where Iâm at creatively anymore.
So Iâm making a shift.
From now on, this channel will focus on breaking down whatâs happening in the world of creative cultureâanime, games, art, tech, and internet trendsâthrough the lens of a curious, creative nerd (me). Iâll still be diving into 3d design, animation, and visual storytelling, but from a place of exploration and commentary rather than tutorials or step-by-step breakdowns.
Think:
âWhy this scene broke the internetâ
âWhat this drama says about the industryâ
âHow artists can make sense of this wild momentâ
âŚand maybe I stumble through a creative project every now and then. I'm currently learning how to draw, so who knows what videos may come from that.
Why not make a second channel for this?
Because this IS the channel. This has always been about creativity, curiosity, and making sense of the art and culture we love. The format is changing, but the core is the same: exploring the things that make creative work exciting, confusing, or worth discussing.
Iâm not âstarting over.â Iâm evolvingâwith more honesty, energy, and alignment than ever before.
Some of you will love this. Some may not. And thatâs okay.
But if youâre here for creative insight, weird trends, and real conversations about the chaos of games, anime, and internet culture, this next chapter might be the best one yet.
Thanks for all the support while I fine-tune the format and find my footing in this new direction.
âThomas
