As some of you have seen, I’m planning a new series of videos on speculative evolution, these are actually the most popular videos on my channel. I wanted to use the AI features available in the Photoshop beta to make my videos more visually immersive and realistic. I do understand the arguments of those who are opposed to this approach.
I wish that my videos on species extinction and paleontology had more impact, but unfortunately, that isn’t the case. My speculative evolution content is what allows the channel to survive and gives me the opportunity to also cover more niche and complex topics on the side.
I hear your criticism, and I’m ready to scrap the work I’ve done over the past few months if the majority of you do not want to see this new series.

Look who’s back! I’m working on a trilogy about the fictional exoplanet imagined by artist Wayne Barlowe. I wasn’t really satisfied with my previous videos on the subject, so I’ve decided to remake them, aiming for something more dynamic, visually stunning, and with a deeper exploration of this alien ecosystem.

Canis dirus is "back"...
Using almost the same approach as Jurassic Park, the company Colossal proudly claims to have brought back to life a species extinct for 10,000 years, which once lived during the Ice Age. Except now, torn from its ecosystem, this poor creature will spend its life inside a pen.
Is that really an animal? Just a manipulable, storable genetic code? Or is it a living organism, actively part of an ecosystem it has evolved to fit into?
The worst part is the company’s argument: now we can resurrect extinct species!
Apparently, death and suffering are no big deal — as long as you can reboot the system, right?
This mindset will only create a false sense of security every time a new species goes extinct (often painfully — through habitat destruction, hunting, pollution... none of which happens gently for wildlife).
And seriously — what’s the point in bringing back species we ourselves wiped out, if we keep destroying the last bits of wild space they might one day need?
So, congrats on this half-wolf, half-lab-creature.
But most of all, bravo for what this symbolizes: instead of letting life unfold naturally, we just can’t help but shove our big invasive human asses in the way — because apparently, that’s all we know how to do.
